The female demon dashed toward him. It was the same technique she had employed earlier. He raised his hands once again. However, he didn’t reach for her wrists this time around. Instead, he permitted his magic to pool at his palms. He raised a powerful barrier between him and the demon. She shrieked and scratched, but she couldn’t get near to him at all.
Magdalene was furious and appeared bewildered at the same time. “What…what’s happening?”
Endymion faced Magdalene before answering. “A demon is still a spirit, Mag. Aside from my ability to see into the future, I can guide spirits into the underworld. Remember?”
“But you can’t—”
“What? Form a barrier?” Magdalene paled in an instant, but Endymion ignored her. “I can do it as long as it’s a protective barrier against a spirit.”
Magdalene seemed even more confused when Darwin and Kellan appeared next to Endymion. “How…how did they—”
