"In this world magic is given. Your body itself does not own any magic. A body without a soul is unable to do magic, even if the person was an alive it would not be of any use. The soul is what drives the magic, to begin with, so if you have a strong soul you can use strong magic. If you have a weak soul, then you can't do much with magic, because it takes much energy, and if you use more then your soul can take, it might break in the end. So you have to be careful Ayla."
It was ten years ago Elise was reborn. She was taken in by a magician named Atlas and was given the name Ayla. Now that she is ten years old, she finally gets the chance to know about the world she was reborn in. She was very smart and learned to read at the age of three.
But Atlas was too strict to let her read anything but children books. He would buy books to her and only God knew where they came from. And know that she was teen years old, it was finally time, for her to learn magic. She was so excited that she could have exploded.
She was happy that she could finally learn magic. But all Atlas did all day, was talking non-stop, about how magic was created and what would happen if one wasn't careful. She got that it was important but she was so bored after six hours of his babbling.
The one thing that irritated her the most was that every time she asked him if she could start learning magic, he would answer her question with; "Ayla, I get it that you are excited about magic, and mana, but we will have to wait till midnight". He spoke with a very serious tone.
She was cut off every time she asked why they would have to wait till midnight, so she'd given up on that question and decided to listen to his babbling so that she could learn about the magic itself without using it.
"Sigh..."
" Is there something wrong Ayla?" Atlas asked.
"No I am just sleepy-yawn," she said in a drowsy tone while yawning.
Whilst she had the mind of a sixteen-year-old....most of the time, her body was still only ten years old. She was built as a seven-year-old, so the body needed more rest than her mind did.
" Don't worry, it's midnight soon?" he said with a parent-like smile on his face.
" I know, but will you tell me why I am supposed to wait till midnight now?" she asked not even trying to hide her irritation one bit, but she was still curious like her old self. Like all the other times there was a long silent moment when she asked that question.
But after seeing his expression, she knew one thing; 'And here comes the storm' she thought, After ten years she had become pretty good at reading his expressions, so she knew he was about to leave a bomb out in the open.
" Well, you know you where born in the moon, right? That much I already have told you Ayla" and again he was in that serious mood grown-ups would go in, when they were about to say something important to kids.
"Yes, that much you have told me. You also said that you found me in the forest that night"
She was a bit anxious, usual he would change the subject, whenever she would bring it up, now it was him who had brought it up.
" Yes, that's correct, but I never told you how and where exactly I found you, did I?"
" No. Now that I think about it.. you never did" She didn't get the point, why was it important, where and how she was found.
" Ayla, I didn't find you, as someone would usually find an abandoned child. I said that you were born in the moon, and that wasn't wrong, but to be precise you were born by the moon, not in the moon"
Ayla was stunned, she didn't expect that. She had expected something more.... normal, more ordinary, NOT THIS. she was totally speechless.
"...and that means?" She seriously did not know if she should cry or laugh.
" Sigh...Ayla, you are not a human being"
