Talking Gorilla

On his way to mine coal and gold ores, the darkness enveloped Nakami. However, the moonlight provided some illumination, although Nakami didn't rely on it too much since he could see perfectly well with his [Night Owl] ability.

On his way to the mining cave, Nakami decided to drop 200E on learning about gunpowder weapons. He figured that while guns were good, they weren't quite explosive enough for his taste. So, he set his sights on creating a grenade to up his defense game. He would made gun anyway later.

As soon as Nakami reached the cave, he abandoned his cart and dashed towards it with his map. He urgently needed to locate the resources required to create gunpowder, but he had not yet discovered them.

Nakami had learned about making gunpowder from charcoal, sulfur, and saltpeter, as well as how to construct a basic explosive device using gunpowder. With this newfound knowledge, he set out to gather the necessary materials to create his own explosives.

After exploring nearly 5 kilometers beyond the entrance of the cave, he finally managed to find charcoal and sulfur in the surrounding area. He knew saltpeter could be found in certain types of soil, which took him almost two hours to locate.

Nakami spent the day mining for explosive materials and filling his cart with them. He also added some coal and gold ore to fill the remaining space. Nakami was happy with his haul and decided to return to his base, which was almost midnight.

Throughout the day, Nakami had called Alice every two hours to check on the safety of their base. He wanted to make sure everything was secure in case of an attack. When he arrived at the base half an hour later, there were no signs of an attack.

Nakami let out a sigh of relief as he watched the drawbridge lower to let him and his cart inside.

"I hope we're safe for the night," he thought to himself.

Alice was the one who normally pull down the bridge at night since she was the only person he would call previously. Wenwen was standing behind, it seems that she saw Alice was talking with him just now so he was fascinated how the calling function works.

"Woah, that's amazing, young master!" exclaimed Wenwen as Nakami got out of his cart.

"I've never seen anything like this before! Being able to talk without any delays, even when we're far apart. I asked Alice about it, but she wouldn't say anything. She said it was related to your power."

Nakami was surprised that Alice had kept it a secret. It wasn't a big deal, but he was curious why she had chosen to do so.

Before adding Wenwen to his calling list, Nakami noticed some unknown names on the list. He quickly checked his map and realized that they were the people who had ventured further into the forest. Nakami saw five of them moving together on the map.

Nakami noticed that the survivors were in danger by watching their movements on the map. He quickly changed into his light armor and grabbed his weapons, telling Alice and Wenwen that he was going to save the remaining survivors. He set out on foot and added any unfamiliar names he saw on his calling list, hoping to guide them to safety.

Nakami added Abe's name to his calling list after it was rejected the first time. He called Abe and instructed him to keep running in the right direction. He didn't even bother to wait for Abe's reply.

After ending the call, Nakami ran as fast as he could to reach their location, which was only three minutes away.

After minutes later, he was surprised to see a huge black gorilla carrying unconscious two elderly people and two teenage girls running next to it.

Nakami raced past the group and faced the three werewolves chasing them. The survivors were amazed by his courage, but the werewolves were larger and stronger than Nakami. It seemed impossible for an ordinary person to defeat them safely.

"Don't look back and keep running until you find the stone wall. I'll be there soon. Go now!" Nakami shouted, not wanting them to slow down or stop to help him. He was prepared to face the werewolves alone.

Nakami threw kunais and shurikens to distract the werewolves, then dashed towards them. When they were close, the werewolves pounced, but Nakami disappeared and one wolf fell.

They were stunned, but only for a few seconds before they got mad and prepared to attack again. Nakami evaded normally this time and used his swordplay to defeat the remaining two.

Nakami was hyped to fight the wolves, but the fight ended in less than a minute, leaving him a little let down. The wolves were all muscle and no brains, trying to block his sword with their arms, which got sliced off right away. Once they lost their arms, it was game over for Nakami.

"Those rabbits were tougher than these wolves," Nakami murmured to himself as he cleaned his sword and retrieved his kunai and shuriken.

The disappearing move he had just used was a fusion of ninjutsu and his [Night Stalker] skill. Although he hadn't given it a name, it proved to be a valuable technique for assassinating monsters.

The survivors had already crossed the bridges to receive treatment from Alice and Wenwen. Nakami walked back, taking his time to clear his mind.

As Nakami arrived, he saw the gorilla, Abe, eating with the others. Alice was serving food in the kitchen, and the teenagers were already eating. Meanwhile, Wenwen was tending to the elder couple in their new house.

It was almost 3AM, and Nakami was beat. He wanted to freshen up before getting some sleep. He hadn't gotten any rest since yesterday morning.

Nakami headed out of his house just before dawn to grab some breakfast at the dining area. He had woken up an hour earlier and spent some time meditating and watching some hilarious cat videos with millions of views.

To his surprise, he had so much fun that he lost track of time, and his stomach reminded him to get some food.

As Nakami arrived at the dining area, he noticed that only Alice and Sarah were there. It seemed like the others were still resting, which was understandable since it was their first night and they had a busy day yesterday.

Recognizing that the dining area would soon be crowded with newcomers, Nakami used the opportunity to catch up with Alice and Sarah over breakfast. He inquired about their progress and happiness, and if there was anything they wanted to improve. Sarah was doing well and had formed a bond with Lily (Smiths daughter), treating her like a little sister.

Alice was doing well with her studies and decided to take on the task of managing the base's resources. She felt it was too important to leave to someone else, and Nakami agreed, which made Alice very happy. Alice also suggested upgrading the main warehouse storage since there would be more resources and people working at the base in the future.

He was happy to see the girls doing so well and felt they were overachieving. Sarah was still a kid and Alice was just starting out as an adult, but they were exceeding his expectations.

Nakami wanted to reward them, but didn't know what to give. He'd never been in a leadership position before, and usually he was the one taking orders and just happy not to get in trouble for making small mistakes.

He said thank you to the girls and patted their heads, then went off to upgrade his cart. He decided to search for some ideas on what kind of gifts would be good for their age and gender. At first, he thought about giving them a steel sword like his own, but he realized that the girls wouldn't be interested in it since they couldn't really use it.

"Hehe, it's finally time for my first vehicle!" Nakami exclaimed as he gathered all the necessary materials to upgrade his cart. Although the materials he had weren't much, he knew they would still significantly reduce the amount of E needed to transmute.

Nakami was surprised to find out that he could turn his cart into an SUV similar to the Tesla Cybertruck, even though it would cost him 300E. He didn't mind spending the E, but he wanted the truck to be more practical, so he removed the backseat to increase the storage capacity. Then he upgraded his cart.

Nakami got into the truck and started the engine, taking in the futuristic interior that looked like something out of a modern car. He started playing with the steering wheel, slowly moving the truck back and forth in the same spot to get a feel for his new ride.

Nakami was having so much fun playing with his new truck that he didn't even notice Adam and Abe watching from just a few meters away. They slowly approached the truck, amazed by its sleek appearance. As they got closer, Nakami lowered the mirror to talk to them, but he was caught off guard as he heard a husky, robotic voice coming from Abe.

"Young master... Do you think I could drive this?"
