Animal Language

He picked the Rabbit v Turtle movie because it was the safest approach, and he didn't really care since it was random anyway. "It doesn't matter what I pick, right?" thought Nakami, comforting himself.

At first, he watched the movie from his phone screen. But after a few seconds, the movie started from the Rabbit's point of view, and Nakami felt like he was in the body of the rabbit character. When the point of view changed, sometimes he would be in the turtle's point of view. He was so focused on the movie that the two-hour film ended in a blink of an eye.

When the movie ended, Nakami remained unmoved for a while to digest everything he had learned from the movie. It was just a journey of both main characters, the rabbit and the turtle, towards the capital of the animal kingdom to topple the current government led by the lion tribe.

Although the movie ended on a cliffhanger with the lion tribe losing badly, they were still leading the animal kingdom. However, at the end, their power had been greatly diminished due to the rabbit and turtle's actions.

The movie ending credits was still playing until it stopped and suddenly Nakami heard 'Tingggg' from his phone.

It was something that he hadnt heard before so his expresison changed immediately. He read the message pop out that suddenly pop out once the movie credit over.

"Congratulation in finishing the movie. You are given 5 minutes to find an easter egg also free your thought about the movie ending here."

As Nakami perused the message, an ominous five-minute timer commenced its countdown. Panic briefly gripped him, but he collected himself with a deep breath and tried to quell the unease. Though the film he had just viewed was ostensibly uncomplicated, he remained unsure how to unearth the elusive easter egg for the first task.

As for the second assignment, he hastily inscribed his personal musings regarding the main characters' tenacious struggle against injustice, yet he couldn't shake the feeling that their methods were redolent of naivete and gullibility.

With the unrelenting timer dwindling, a curious memory suddenly surfaced in Nakami's mind. The movie had featured certain simian-like creatures that appeared to exist only within the confines of cinematic fantasy, but there had also been a colossal statue reminiscent of Sun Wukong, a prominent figure in Chinese mythology.

This artifact had made a solitary cameo during the scene when the rabbit, having become separated from the turtle, sought out aid. Nakami promptly inscribed this obscure detail as his answer to the first task.

The sound of a bell ringing, "Dinggg," filled the quiet room, but nothing seemed to change. Nakami waited for a moment, but there was no further indication of what was happening. Deciding it was getting late, he turned off the lights and settled into bed, ready to sleep.

As he closed his eyes, a notification suddenly popped up on his phone. It was short and sweet, yet incredibly significant.

"Congratulations. You have learned the [Animal language]." Nakami couldn't believe his eyes. Had he really succeeded in completing the challenge?

It was late at night and almost everyone was sleeping, except for the sentry on duty. It was Abe's turn that night, so Nakami greeted him as he patrolled the wall. Before he arrived at the fish farm, Nakami wanted to test if he could really understand animals with his latest perk.

"Glup.. glup.. glup..", the sound of water dropping to just human height depth echoed. Nakami stared at the fishes to see if he could hear them talking or something, but after waiting for five minutes, he got nothing.

"I have read the description of the skill, but it literally tells me nothing," thought Nakami as he gave up and started walking toward his room to sleep.

The next morning, Nakami decided to start stockpiling resources except for wood. He wanted to preserve the trees since their numbers were limited and took a long time to regrow.

Nakami aimed to maximize productivity, so he ensured that every man participated and even crafted a new log cart. They worked tirelessly until just before noon. By that time, they had completed 12 trips of gathering all available resources nearby, including live animals like fish and rabbits.

Later during lunch, Nakami briefed everyone who was present in the dining area. He told them that he had decided to close the base from going in and out, especially with the threat of another creature stronger than the werewolves.

"Hmm, almost everyone disliked going outside now huh since the werewolves incident.." thought Nakami as he looked at their responses.

The briefing lasted for only 10 minutes before Nakami let everyone continue with their activities. Wenwen and Alice stayed behind to discuss their work during the seclusion. Nakami handed a journal to Wenwen, inside of which was a rough plan on how to reward people for doing tasks that ensured the proper running and maintenance of the base. He felt bad that Alice had to cook for everyone every day without being paid or rewarded.

Since there was no currency yet, Nakami planned to reward each person according to their preferences later since he could transmute anything they wanted with his skill. Wenwen would handle everything related to jobs since Nakami believed she could handle it better than him and she seemed enthusiastic about it.

After leaving the dining area, Wenwen began her task while Alice had been smiling since Nakami mentioned her daily gastronomy for everyone. Although she didn't mind cooking every day, sometimes she felt like being inert for the whole day. Alice was genuinely happy when she learned about Nakami's plan to distribute the workload equitably, ensuring that everyone would receive recognition for their toilsome efforts.

Nevertheless, Alice would still do the cooking for dinner until Wenwen started implementing the new working system, which should be in a few days. Before Nakami left to do his thing, Alice expressed her intention to create a video. She wanted to help him too, just like the others who made videos for him. Alice knew that this video making thing done by Nakami was for sure related to his special ability, so she wanted to at least help him a little.

Afterward, Nakami improved the inner workings of most of the towers he had built before. He decided not to construct any new towers since there were already enough for the time being. He also had to perform maintenance on most of the advanced facilities here since only he and Adam knew how to handle the technology. The others were still learning, so Nakami couldn't rely on them yet.

He completed everything just half an hour before sunset. Nakami went to practice blacksmithing before dinner as he wanted to keep upgrading his arsenal. Furthermore, he wanted to go to the forest tonight to communicate with animals with his new skill.

Therefore, he made some new clothes that focused on mobility and stealth. Armed with new, smaller grenades with new types such as flashbang and smoke grenades, he packed everything inside a smaller and stealthy backpack before joining the others for dinner.

He informed the others about his nighttime outing to prevent them from being alarmed if he failed to return promptly. Nakami was confident in his ability to flee if any mishap occurred and knew that he could always return to his base in an emergency. However, before departing, he spent some time teaching others since he refused to abandon the notion of constant education.

"Krikkk krikkk krikkkkkk krikkkk"

The rhythmic chirping of crickets filled the air, echoing through the forest with an almost hypnotic quality. Nakami navigated the underbrush with expert stealth, his movements precise and measured as he pushed deeper into the woods. Despite his confidence in the werewolves' absence, he remained alert, his senses acutely attuned to his surroundings.

As Nakami approached the remains of the werewolves, he suddenly noticed a few towering figures standing among the wreckage. Though it made him nervous, he took a deep breath to compose himself and walked quietly toward the figures.

"Are there other tribes living here that we're not aware of? Though these savages were weak, they're still better than the typical humans who came to this island. Hmm... Messenger! I need you to inform the head chief about this. Here's what I've deduced. We'll explore the other savages first."

Nakami listened from a distance with his enhanced hearing as the orders were given. When he got close enough to see the figures, he was momentarily surprised, but not unexpected. They were minotaurs, towering at an average of 2 meters, with the largest at least 2.5 meters tall, making them appear huge even from a distance in Nakami's perspective.
