概要

I was just your average unemployed young man in the harsh, unfair world we live in, also known as ‘society’. I never thought of myself as special. After all, I wasn’t special. I had two eyes, a nose and a mouth like an average human, I slaved for money like a brainless zombie like an average human, and I don’t understand the first thing about women like an average human. The last one’s especially important, since something that doesn’t happen to an average human happened to me. ((Congratulations! You have been invited to the [Girls’ Dimensional Group]! Accept?)) Can I refuse? ((No.)) Then why even ask? ((Idk, ask the Author.)) ???

Chapter 1[Chapter:0][Prologue]

You know, I once asked my teacher a question a long time ago, so long ago, that I can't even remember when it was or what my age was when I asked it.

But I do remember he taught math. People tend to remember math teachers, don't they?

Anyway, I asked him, "How would you describe an average human?"

I don't remember if I asked him in class, and I certainly don't remember in which class I was when I asked him.

Hell, I don't even remember his name, just his face which many children, including the me at that time, wanted to punch, whenever he taught algebra.

But his answer struck me, to the point where I'm sure that to the day I die, whether it be of unfortunate, unforeseen circumstances, or due to old age, I would remember it.

He told me, "In my opinion, an average human is a newborn infant. The moment you are born, you start drifting away from 'average'. A baby that breathes in the fresh scent of nature, born in a remote hospital in some countryside that hasn't been turned into a world of cement, is different from a baby born in New York, its first breath being one of fresh pollution. A child born in a rich household is different from one born in a family that cannot afford luxuries. A youth attending a less known high school and socialising with the sons and daughters of similar households is different from a youth having fun in world renowned universities and racing in super cars with his fellow rich youngsters. An adult working as a tea maker is different from an adult heading a multinational corporation. An elderly person who looks back at his life, full of regrets and suffering, is different from one who dies with a smile on his face and peace in his heart. One who goes to Heaven after death, if there is one, is different from one who is invited to Hell. Only for a single moment in your long yet short life could you truly call yourself 'average'. No, wait, now that I think about it, a poor foetus that is disposed of before it could have the chance of being born is also different from one that is given birth to. I guess you can never truly call yourself 'average' huh? Sorry kid, looks like I can't answer your question."

He did, in fact, answer me. Perhaps, I didn't understand it back then. Perhaps, he himself didn't know it.

But now I do.

An average human…is nonexistent.

And I, who believed myself to be and to live as an average human being all my life…

((Congratulations! You have been invited to the [Girls' Dimensional Group]! Accept?))

Turns out, I'm not going to be average either.

Endless Path : Infinite Cosmos

Vahn was an atypical youth. Due to a rare mutation, his blood had the potential to target and attack ailments within the human body. Touted as a universal cure, people had elevated his status above the norm and given him the classification "Panacea". In the media, he was hailed as a great hero who would usher in a new era or human wellness. However, behind the scenes things weren't so bright. Being a unique individual, Vahn spent his entire youth locked up in a lab with various scientists and research teams using his body and blood to perform endless amounts of experiments. The only solace in his suffering was the various anime and manga made available to him between experiments. He often imagined himself as the protagonist in a world of his own, finally in control of his own destiny. For years he nurtured this desire, until at the age of 14 he died when an organization had tried to kidnap him from the lab... "Finally, I don't have to suffer anymore..." This was Vahn's last thought as he faded into the endless black abyss... "You poor soul."
