A Challenge

The guy finally opened the door for her and she scurried outside without taking one glance back.

Lucy could hear her squabbling with the guy. It turned out that Jonah had only been messing with her. Her father was not in the hallway.

She listened to their banters for a while before Ara's voice faded away.

Hopefully, she would bring her food soon, because she was starving. Her parents had send her here to ask thesame thing during lunch. But she'd preffered her food to be brought here. Going that and joining them would only meant she had given in. They would take it as a sign that she was willing to relent and she had come back to her senses.

And the next thing they might do was ask her to start preparing for her wedding. Hadn't Cedric said they would marry immediately after the engagement?
