Chapter 2 - Destiny's Flow

It was a cloudy afternoon and Bai Gongzu, a messenger from the palace is on his way back from the General's estate.

It wasn't long when the carriage stopped.

"What's the problem?" He asked.

"Reporting, I am from the General's estate. They are requesting your presence again."

He was shocked from the news and hurriedly back.

"Waigu! I will be returning back to the General's Estate, make sure to send an imperial physician"

Bewildered by the news, Bai Gongzu rushed back without delay.

"It does happen when a baby is born with a weak heartbeat. But the baby has contracted an illness from the womb." Chou Li, was the imperial physician that was sent to check on the baby.

For Chou Li, if this kind of situation didn't happen in the past, he would also assume that the baby was switched. After all, there is a 'death order' on the child who bears a purple eye.

The physician who assists in giving birth to the baby confirmed that it is the same one. It does have a birthmark from the edge of his cheek down to his left shoulder.

"Your wife seems to be in a weak state, she lost a lot of blood. I will prescribe medicine for her and the baby." Chou Li said before walking away.

Inside the white carriage, three men can be seen. Chou Li, whose face was pale, and Bai Gongzu, whose knife was at the physician's neck.

"Tell me the truth old man, is it really the same child?!" Gongzu shouted.

Chou Li who was watching the scene unfold managed to calm himself and spoke.

"Hm... Physician Nan wouldn't tell a lie. He and I have the same master. We only served the imperial family."

Physician Nan and Imperial Physician Chou studied under the same Master. He believed that there is no reason for him to lie.

All physicians are treated highly and what Gongzu did was undoubtedly disrespectful. But that's why he was a messenger 'only serve the king' was his life's motto. He does the dirty jobs that royals were unable to do.

Without saying a word, Gongzu got out of the carriage and leave the two men alone.

"Physician Nan, do not take his actions to heart. One day, he will get what he deserves."

Physician Nan just nods his head. Holding his anger and frustrations.

He did leave a very crucial point during his testimony. He felt that Zhang Feifei's pulse change another wave. She lost more blood and the strain in her body increased almost as if she gave birth again.

Imperial Physician Chou couldn't detect this change as he was Zhang Feifei has an original strain from a previous miscarriage.

No one knew that Physician Nan was actually a distant relative of General Zhang. He saves him from being thrown to the orphanage and finds a closer relative to adopt him. He supported him not just monetarily but also treating him as part of his family.

For whatever reason the Zhang family is keeping their other child, this is the only time he can really contribute back to all the kindness he received.

"Let destiny take its turn to guide them" He murmured as he slowly ventured back to the capital.
