When the void split open

In the middle of the Seven Mountain Valley, in the Water Palace Region, the clouds in the sky started gathering announcing the formation of a huge storm.

The wind started blowing strong and the rain fell non stop, washing all the green vegetation below it before being absorbed by the soil or joining the single lake residing in the center of the valley.

Signs of lightning started appearing and soon the sound of thunders could be heard by all animals in the surroundings. Those animals didn't waste any more time before retreating back to their nests but there was one single exception who refused to follow the laws of the nature, using his own power to challenge the world in search of an even greater height.

Cedric Shaw was a lone cultivator who had a eventful life, full of battles and adventures. Due to his talent, courage and luck he had reached the limit a cultivator could reach, achieving control over the laws that reign the universe and reforming his body into a immortal body that never gets old.

But this was not enough!

No!

Immortality should not be limit!

In innumerous ancient texts there are multiple passages talking about immortals who transcended immortality, slitting the void to reach a whole new realm where true cultivation would begin!

How they do so is debatable, some are able to break through on their own and the heavens themselves open a passage so that they can ascend while others use their strongest attacks to dig their path for ascension through brute force.

Cedric had tried the first method for ten million years. It was theoretically the safest method and he had unlimited time, so he researched everything he could, different cultivation techniques, sword art, spear art, fist art, alchemy, formations and even necromancy but despite his power rising more and more, the final breakthrough that he wanted so much was never achieved.

Not letting himself feel down, he decided it was time to make it happen even if it had to be by force, which bring us to the current scene.

Since it was a dangerous technique that would expend a great deal of his strength and Cedric had more than a few enemies lurking around, Cedric traveled under disguise for a few years before being sure he was not being followed.

Then he choose the Seven Mountain Valley because it was an inhabited dangerous zone with no special herbs or minerals, making it an unlikely place for other cultivators to disturb him. And this also helped him setting up the giant formation that would increase the power of his strikes to a level never seen before.

After another five years of hard work setting up the place, everything was ready and even the storm above his head was actually something he projected himself to expand the power of his strikes.

"This storm....IT'S A SIGN!"

But it seems like he had prepared so many things that he even forgot that!

Getting up from his meditating position, Cedric flew over the middle of the lake and started to concentrate himself.

"This time!"

Cedric took out his sword from the sheath.

"I will!"

Cedric raised his sword while holding it with both hands, and at the moment a gigantic lightning fell down on him, hitting the tip of the sword...

"SUUUUUC!!!!!!"

Cedric used all his power at once, forming a gigantic strike toward the sky, so big and strong that even the mountains would be cut by it if his target was a little lower.

"CEEEEEEEE!!!!!!"

At the same time another 31 mirror images of Cedric appeared at different edges of the lake, repeating the exact same strike, toward the exact same point where the clouds gathered.

But this was not all, Cedric himself made a final piercing strike, hitting the exact same point where all strikes converge.

"EEEEEEEEED!!!!!!"

And then, like the legends said, the sky broke open showing a sea of stars... but that was not all!

There were also giant insects, and robots fighting each other at a war of unprecedent scale for the Cultivation World.

And exactly in front of the hole that opened up a Mech was accelerating at full speed with a shining lance ready to deal fatal damage to the insect who is now protected on the other side of the hole.

What more can I say? Well, the result you can already imagine, right?

So all this happened so fast that it could almost considered at the same time: the hole opened up in the sky, the mech passed through it and brutally crashed in the middle of the lake, but not before impaling the poor Cedric and completely obliterating his body on the way.

This was the sad end of maybe one of the strongest cultivators to ever exist, but sit tight as the true story is starting exactly from now on!
