Kai rolled his eyes, throwing his head slightly back due to frustration. His hands were at his hips as he glared at Mordeu, "Why are you being so unnecessarily impossible?"

"I'm not being impossible; I'm just being cautious. This mission killed several people." He realized his voice was getting louder, and Cillian stood next to him. He quickly took a deep breath to calm the rage in his heart before he continued, "No matter how gifted we are, or how powerful Alana is, we cannot compare to the warriors of the Luna Calvary."

Kai raised an eyebrow, "You can't die."

"But they can," Mordeu gestured to his teammates, but his eyes focused on Kai and so he was unable to see the quizzical expression playing on the faces of the ones clueless about his status as the red wolf.

Especially Fjall, who found it quite impossible to remove his eyes from Mordeu as he tried to understand the words his brother and Kai just uttered in the heat of the moment.
