Heading home

"May wake up" I heard someone say "Come on your mom's going to be here any minute"

I opened my eyes and asked, "What time is it?"

"it 's 1:00 pm," said Amara (she was the person who had woken me up).

"What!"

I bolted upright and checked my phone (which had been returned in the night) and Amara was right. I slept through breakfast and lunch!

"I was surprised too," said Amara "I only woke up 5 minutes ago which was enough time for me to get dressed. Speaking of, I'll go out in the hall so you can get dressed." and with that, she left.

After I'd gotten dressed Amara came back and we started cleaning up our mess. Just as we had finished there was a knock on the door

"come in," said Amara.

The door opened and Amara's parents walked in.

"Good you already cleaned up," said Amara's mom then she turned to me "May your mom, unfortunately, is sick and asked us to drop you off instead"

I nodded and collected my stuff then said "Thanks for telling me. I'm ready to leave when you are"

I knew this was the polite thing to say but I really wanted to stay a little longer.

"Thank you," said Amara's father "We are ready to leave. Amara, do you want to come with us while we drop May off?"

Amara nodded and when her parents turned to leave I followed Amara behind me.
