The Day Before The Incident
Sarah pressed the elevator button frantically, as if there were no tomorrow. The doors opened, and she hurriedly stepped inside, quickly closing them behind her. Overwhelmed by emotions, she collapsed onto the floor, her legs no longer able to support her weight.
"I will sell everything I have to pay you back. Give me a week," Sarah uttered, hoping to bring an end to the conversation. However, Noah refused to let it end there.
Leaning in close to her ear, Noah whispered, "It would be much easier if you sold your everything to me." His words hung in the air for a moment before a resounding slap struck his cheek.
Sarah covered her face, remembering the moment Noah's eyes widened in surprise from the slap. She didn't know where she had found the courage, but she was certain that Noah deserved it.
