Underground Car Garage

Getting up early in the morning, Joe and I had our breakfast before packing everything necessary in the apartment. Joe had gone through his apartment and killed all the zombies while looting all the food and weapons.

"You ready, bro," says Joe

"Yes, let's get moving because we have a long trip ahead of us. By the way, which do you think is the best way to reach D'ville."

"I think we should figure out our transportation first because walking there the whole way will take days," replies Joe.

"That's true; I haven't even thought of doing that yet because I was so busy worried about attracting the zombies with the noise of the engine. But if we avoid using a vehicle, it will take days and waste our time. I'm not even sure that they work, seeing as everything with electricity is out at the moment."

"Lucky for you, I have already tried. That was how I was planning on getting to you, but there is a small problem. The battery in the car dies 15 minutes after the car starts, so we would need some way to recharge the battery as we go."

"Maybe Crystal can help us there."

"Ok, let's head to the car garage and see if Crystal can supercharge the batteries for us."

Following Joe, we go to the car garage to check out the vehicle options and see if Crystal can keep it running.

Stepping into the dark car garage Joe and I hear something shuttling in the dark. Joe lights up our path with the bright flames on his hand, only to illuminate the cat in the dark. It looks as big as a dog with black fur and brown stripes. It had a shadow-like presence as if it was fading in and out of the shadows. The sparkle that passes through its eyes gives the impression that it has some intelligence and won't immediately attack. It looks between Joe and me but wearily watches me with fear in its eyes whenever it looks my way.

"Joe, I think it's afraid of me, so why don't you go for the kill and practice what I taught you yesterday."

"I can hear the sarcasm in your voice Dwayne, and it only fears you because you evolved first. I was going to take most of the killings anyways so that can catch up to you."

"Joe, is this jealousy I here? Is someone upset because they are in the presence of a higher human? Hahaha"

Joe heats up with blazing hot flames covering his hands after my comment. He walks off whispering to himself, 'it's not like you are the best or something. As soon as I see your mom ill tell her how cocky you have been, and we'll see who laughs then.'

"You know that since I have ranked up into a high human, all my senses have improved, and I can hear you. How about I tell your mom that I had to save you from that big a** zombie because you didn't take the time to learn your abilities before you were out here running around playing commando."

"Bro, you know I was joking with you. How can you do this to me? You know my mom believes whatever you tell her like you're some angle or something."

"Hahaha, that's what I thought."

Joe forms two fireballs above each hand as he aims at the cat beast. The cat realizes that Joe is now a threat and prepares for battle. To stay on the safe side, I check the cat's stats out.

Telling Joe about its stats so he can be more careful, the battle with the cat begins.

Joe fires the two fireballs in his hand as the cat dodges behind the nearest car to evade the flames and fades into the darkness to disappear. The cat jumps out from behind the vehicles' shadow and ponces toward Joe at a swift speed. Firing two more fireballs at the air-born cat, Joe rolled at the way after he set it in ablaze.

The cat beast drops to the ground and rolls around to put out the flames. As it gets back up, it slowly disappears into the shadows of another car to prepare for its next attack.

Joe becomes silent while focusing on his surroundings to locate the cat. Trying to hear the faintest of sounds or to see any movement coming from the shadows of the cars around him. He dodges to his right at the slight vibration in the shadows of the car behind him. His flame-covered fist punches the side of the cat beast sending it flying into the cars nearby.

Bang

Boom

The car it hits explodes because of the collision and the flames.

'His instincts are still as impeccable as before. If I can get him to take the time to study his element, he will be my greatest general,' Dwayne thought to himself.

Joe walks over the cat grieving in pain; as he stands over it, a look of disdain on his face.

"You should have been more afraid of me. Now you made Dwayne feel big-headed about his self wanting to run and tell my mom."

'Wait, that's why you are upset because I was going to tell on you.'

Joe's fist covered in flames heats up and grows more prominent as the flames blast out from around it. He punches down with all his might into the cat beats' head blowing it apart on impact.

On the side of the now-dead cat was an item. It looks like bright red biker gloves with yellow flame drawings inscribed on the side. The knuckles were adorned with spikes made of some unknown metal and if you look closely you can see flashes of red energy from time to time. Joe picks them up with a big smile on his face.

"Hey, Joe check if you can absorb all the flames you shot out all over the place or you're going to burn the building down with us in it."

"Cool"

Joe sticks his hands out as he concentrates on absorbing all the fire elemental mana in the surrounding flames to put them out.

[Blaze Knuckles - gives the wearer 5% fire damage with each hit, if the user is of the flame element, there is a bonus of 5% fire elemental damage. +10 Str, +5 Int]

"Great job Joe, but why didn't you try to make it submit to you? It looked like it was afraid of death after you defeated it."

"Damn, I forgot I could do that. I could have gotten a cool shadow cat. Oh well, at least I got this cool glove, and I leveled up one level."
