Chapter One hundred and Forty-six

Charlie had spent time trying to talk sense into his nephew as he did all he could within his power to explain to him that actually Jay did love Bella so much. He had only been a victim of his circumstances. He pointed out to him that even when he did not have his memories, Jay still was curious about who the maid bearing Bella was, despite all the lies cooked up by Stella and her minions. He made Jonathan see that even Bella still loved him and was not ready to make a closure, hence she had run away instead of stand. Besides, she was already carrying Jay's child and it was only natural for her to be with the father of her baby. It was not fair to her if she was kept away from him any longer than was necessary. At first, his words seemed like water upon a hard rock as at the time, Jonathan was still clouded by anger and clueless. As Charlie explained further, he had to begin to see reasons with the older guy. He was actually right. Thinking back to his time with Bella, he could tell that she obviously still loved the man whom had gotten her into that condition. 

In vain however, he had tried to be the one she would be craving for and thinking of, but all that anticipation and speculations were in vain. As, even though she tried to pretend and hide it, she had a bigger part of her heart carved out for just the one she loved. He would never be able to get her to love him that much and he wanted a woman he could fully be into and the energy reciprocated would match up. He had to let her go either way. They were probably great as being just friends and nothing more. Seeing how Jay had reacted, it actually confirmed his uncles words that he was really into Bella. With someone like Jay managing her, he had nothing to fear regarding to her protection. He had to man up and do the needful. Thus, he thanked his uncle for actually saving him from making a mistake out of stupidity that might have led to his death. He however hoped that Charlie would desist from dishing out slaps to him like that. The two had made up and went out to meet Jay. 

"Well? ", the impatient man said as soon as he sighted them. 

Charlie explained to him that finally they had agreed upon something. He hoped that Jay would however overlook the attitude from Jonathan as mistakes of a confused youth. Jay said that he did understand fully and made noise about whether or not Jonathan was going to show them the way. That was when Jonathan stepped forward. 

"Uncle Jay, I have decided to give her up on the condition that you treat her right and make sure that she feels secured. To promise you, if I ever notice that you wrong her for one day, I swear on my life that I would take her away from you ", he said with all seriousness. 

Jay chuckled loudly. Never had he believed that Jonathan would possess such balls. He noted that fact however to Charlie that his nephew was a grown man. He thanked the youth graciously for looking after his woman all along and reassured him that definitely, he was going to take care of her. He had made a mistake letting her slip away from his fingers, he was not going to make a repeat of that again. 

Seeing how serious he was, Jonathan decided to let sleeping dogs lie. He decided it was time to go after her and joined them in Jay's car while the bodyguards trailed after them. He led the way straight to where Mr Clarkson lived with his family.
