Chapter 50 : Another Golden Ticket

I wheezed as I hauled a heavy box out of the elevator and into my apartment.

“You know, I could’ve helped you,” Luke said and I quickly caught my phone before it could slide off of the box along with my mail, canceling the speaker and putting it to my ear.

“Hush, you have work to do and seeing as I’ve been declared a distraction and you’re slightly behind, the only muscle you should be using right now is your brain.”

With that, I shoved the box the rest of the way through the door and into my apartment.

“Ha! There we go, see? I got this, and you got your work. You can do this, baby.”

“It’s less of a matter of can do and more of a matter of will do,” he groaned, making me chuckle.

“Well, if you finish, how about I come over with dinner? I have all the ingredients I need for a good cobbler…”

“That sounds delicious. How do you feel about a steak dinner then?”
