Chapter 14: Memories

Memories are a remarkable aspect of humanity. While also an ugly cycle of recollection of nightmares. Memories are what define one person.

They are the collection of images, feelings, and interactions in life. Memories hold both joyous moments and painful ones.

Memories are what construct a human being. They are what we fundamentally rely on to make our choices. We learn, love, find joy and warmth and see the negative in life through memories. Memories are an excellent concept, but a concept designed to last for an eternity, connecting hearts, whether here on earth or in the afterlife.

As he crouched down in his room, he prayed from his heart. Crying, he remembered Karin's face. As she laid down there, smiling, crying, and talking. Trusting her last wishes to Suzuki, he heard nothing but saw everything.

Her eyes spoke softly to him. Many unspoke words flooded into his brain. He found that life was constructed around love, anger, joy, kindness, sadness, hatred, and belonging.

Money is vital. Money will make him happy. That's what he believes. But sadly, Suzuki left a critical aspect: money cannot buy the dead to be brought back alive.

Life is a construct of many string events. Events lead to other events.

Words create an emotion. Words speak a new language. Words make a new line of interactions.

Words create a new vast reality. Words construct a whole new timeline. Words are powerful.

When felt, a comment can change the world drastically and in an instant. So choose wisely, think, and speak softly, for your words are a harsh reality or a sweet lie.

Crying and snot running down his nose, Suzuki sat in the nightmare of his memories. Unable to hear the words, the woman departed from her last breaths to him, making him depressed. Unable to bear the moment where she took her last gasp of air. Suzuki slowly buried his face into his pillow. Screaming for an answer, he sat on his bed and lay down again from discomfort. Unable to keep his heavy eyes open, they slowly shut close.

Memories of her flowed into his mind. Then, late at night, he saw her face. Struggling to breathe, he stood there watching.

Unable to move, he heard. "Oh, what beautiful eyes you have. Suzuki, you pure soul, create a wonderful life for yourself. Make friends and watch yourself as you get older. Live a long life full of joy and smiles, but do not forget to calm your emotions with tears. Be well, Suzuki."

He rose from his bed, eyes swollen, and tears dried. Then, smiling, a river of tears flowed. His heart rate spiked, and his anxiety went down.

Finally, she passed on the entrusted wishes to him. He finally heard her words, and her wishes were now to be granted. "Yes, I will." He said as he sobbed.

One's memory can alter and change to fit one's self-concept. But in the long run, memories will haunt you and bring the truth. For example, sweet loving memory will remain in one's heart and mind for eternity, no matter how much one must try to alter or erase it.

Out of the good, there is a bad. Out of the bad, there is a good. Balance is when one has maintained both.

Grief is a concept of a human being. Without grief, one cannot truly move on. And without moving on, one cannot imagine the grief. An idea that is so baffling yet simple to ease one's heart. A loving memory will remain in one's heart, even when that person is not.

On his Saturday, with his eyes swollen, he decided to head outside and go on a park walk. Suzuki was excited and felt as if an extra weight was lifted off his shoulders.

Suzuki sincerely smiled. Heading towards the park, he walked past a girl who used a wheelchair. This time, he heard a soft voice. Almost as if she was whispering. "Umm, e-excuse me."
