Chapter Three

"Who'll miss me t-though? Just you, right? My m-mom doesn't like me, my dad's been using me to make money since middle school! NOBODY CARED ABOUT ME D-DON'T YOU G-GE-GET IT AKIRA? NOBODY GIVES TWO SHITS ABOUT ME ANY MORE! THAT'S EXACTLY WHY HE LEFT ME IN THE FIRST PLACE!" Jamie was crying even more as he slumped himself down on the cold pavement wiping his eyes with his long sweater."I'm so fucked up." Jamie whispers as he began to fiddle with his glasses, taking them of and laying his head on his knees. "Jamie, so this is all about Eiji?" Jamie went wide-eyed, and looked up to see Akira looking straight at him with a stern look. "If it is that motherfucker could rot in hell for all I care."

"D-Don't say that about Eiji, he had it rough, it was my fault anyways. . ."

"Stop saying it was your fault we all know it isn't!"

"I just jumped because I w-wanted to b-be with hi-him!"

"Jamie, stop doing this to yourself, you still have a lot to look up too."

"Aki. . . are you sure it's not my fault?"

"Positive, no matter what they tell you, he did it on his own whim, he left us so why are you acting like he's dead?"

"Thanks, Aki, to be honest, I'm not even sure why I did what I did in the first place, I thought it was for the best." Jamie hugged Akira, they stood there for a while when they decided to break apart. "Let's go now I'm starving!" Akira just looked at Jamie, more concerned than ever.

"Look, dude when I said I'll pay I didn't expect you to buy the whole restaurant!" Akira glared at Jamie who was gobbling up his fries.

"Hey, Aki, I'm a little emotional here don't fuck with me!"

"Why are you so cocky and stubborn?"

"It's been flowing in my family for decades and you ask now?"

"Yeah, yeah just shove that loud mouth of yours."

"Thank you kind sir." Akira and Jamie laughed for a little as Jamie kept gobbling his face with everything, not stopping, he must have been really hungry. After their lunch Jamie finally asked, "So if you ditched school with me will you get detention as well?" As he began to throw away all the extra napkins and wrappers. Thinking of how cool it'll be to have Akita in detention for once.

"Who said I ditched?"

"Me."

"Well, 'me' is wrong I didn't ditch."

"What?"

"I was 'called' from home for an 'emergency' and yeah."

Jamie looked at him with a slight open mouth, "Never knew you had it in you." Now, walking outside the fast-food place, and into the pavement.

"Wow, what a compliment from the biggest troublemaker! Will I win a reward or something?" Akira said hitting his broad shoulders softly to Jamie's small ones. "Maybe, if you buy me ice cream I'll consider."

"Really?"

"Yup."

The next thing they both know is they're standing in the inside of a convenience store, Jamie looking at the flavours while Akira was just staring out in space. When Jamie got the strawberry flavour, they paid, well Akira paid Jamie was too busy fiddling the wrapper as they both took their leave from the store.

"Here you go!" Jamie gave Akira the wrapper of his popsicle ice cream.

"And why do I need this?"

"It's my reward from earlier."

"Wow, how disappointing, I thought it would have been more extreme or something."

"Yeah, like I could afford something amazing!"

"At least the ice cream would've been nice."

"Haha you're so funny!" Jamie said sarcastically as he began to eat his ice cream and Akira still had the worried expression from earlier.

"Jamie, why don't you stay over at my house today?"

"Huh? Oh no that's okay I already made you waste a lot of money."

Akira bit his bottom lip as he kept staring at Jamie's small bruise in his lip he hadn't noticed before. Akira grabbed Jamie's cheeks and pulled him close to his face, only two inches away from their noses touching. "What happened there?" Akira's breath was warm and soft as he gently whispered, staring intensity in Jamie's rare bright green hazel eyes.
