The Next Morning...
I woke up later than I usually do. I couldn't sleep well last night because my mind was filled with all the things that had happened.
I remembered something Sasuke once told me. He said that I didn't understand the pain of losing someone because I never had anyone to lose. I never knew what it felt like to lose someone.
And he was right. Yesterday, when Konohamaru was crying in front of me, I didn't have any words to comfort him. I didn't know what to say because I've never been in his shoes.
Anyway, since I woke up late, I could only squeeze in a quick workout and a bit of meditation. I can't skip that; pervy sage insisted that I do both every day.
After I returned to the village, that was one of the tasks he gave me—training every morning without fail. He never explained why, leaving me to figure it out on my own.
It's been quite a while since I last saw him. The last time was before my last mission. When I got back and asked about him, I found out he had already gone off to do his usual work.
I really hope I get to see him soon. He promised to take me to a special place where I could learn sage mode, and I'm eager to start that training.
Anyway, I made myself some breakfast, and after I finished eating, I took my dishes to the sink to clean them.
Just as I was about to head to my bedroom to change into something more suitable for going out, I heard a knock at the front door.
When I opened it, I found Sakura standing there. "Naruto, you're still here!" she exclaimed. "I went looking for you at the training ground. By the way, Granny Tsunade called for both of us at the Hokage office."
"For a mission?" I asked, curious.
"I'm not sure. We'll find out when we get there," she replied.
"Okay, just give me a minute to get ready," I said. "You can wait inside for now." She stepped inside while I headed to my bedroom.
After about seven minutes, I walked out wearing a black jacket over a black T-shirt, paired with black jeans and black boots. I don't know why, but I seem to have a thing for black.
With that, I stepped out of my room, and together, Sakura and I headed off to meet Granny Tsunade at the Hokage office.
At The Hokage office...
"So left for the mission already ?" I asked, As Granny Tsunade just told us that today at early morning Team 10 - Shikamaru, Ino and Choji left for finding those Akatsuki members they faced first some days ago , and Kakashi-sensei also joined them,
One day I wake up late, and this happens
"So, what we need to do ?" Sakura asked
"You'll leave village to join them for the mission"
"So, It's me & Sakura only !?" I asked.
"No, Yamato will be joining you as well" she replied, "I'm trusting on you Naruto, don't disappoint me." She aaid, as I only nodded.
"So, Where Is Captain Yamato now ?" Sakura asked
In the Hokage's office...
"So, they already left for the mission?" I asked. Granny Tsunade had just informed us that earlier this morning, Team 10—Shikamaru, Ino, and Choji—had left to track down those Akatsuki members they encountered a few days ago. Kakashi-sensei had also joined them.
I sleep in one day, and look what happens!
"So, what do we need to do?" Sakura asked.
"You'll leave the village to join them on the mission," Granny Tsunade replied.
"So, it's just me and Sakura?" I asked.
"No, Yamato will be joining you as well," she said. "I'm counting on you, Naruto. Don't let me down." I nodded in response.
"Where is Captain Yamato now?" Sakura asked.
"He's waiting outside. Get ready; you'll leave for the mission in the next hour," Granny Tsunade said. We both nodded and walked out of the Hokage's office.
