The Life of Kenshiro Senju

I am not the writer! The author goes by the online name Kestix. I just thought that it would be a shame for this gem to rot out there forever. Author: https://www.royalroad.com/profile/16399 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Kenshiro Senju, son of Iria Senju and Daikuma Senju Kenshiro Senju, that is now my name. It has not always been... Once I have been named differently, by another mother, in a different world. I had grown up in a different world, have lived a different life, and have done things way differently. My story started like so many other isekai self-insert stories. Well, at least I think my death has been a little bit more on the strange side. Author of the cover; https://www.pinterest.de/mliannaphilisa/

Chapter 7

The academy was boring, boring I tell you. The little history we have was already known to me and Tsunade, we both have learned from Tobirama. There isn't someone better to tell you the history of the village. He was there when it was founded.

Sparring would start in our second year, as will Chakra manipulation. We first have to bring the civilians up to speed. They were far behind the clan kids. I asked Tobirama why we were put together with them when they were only holding us back.

He ruffled my hair and told me that that may be so, but how else would we learn to understand camaraderie between each other. We would create a two-caste system if we place the civilian Ninja away from the clan Ninja. I could understand that and didn't argue.

So, my first year was spent with acting as if I was paying attention, while I really was training my Chakra Manipulation and Sealing.

Sports were equally boring, at first, we clan kids tried to do our own stuff and race ahead of the civilian kids, but we were called back by the teacher. It let the resentment of the clan kids grow, they didn't understand why we were held back.

I told Tobirama my observation and he frowned deeply. The next day he visited the school, he was already Hokage. His visit was much to the delight of the students and the high nervousness of the teachers. He asked us how we are if we are good in our studies and so on. When he asked for questions one of the students from a clan, the Inuzuka clan, asked why they have to study with the civilian kids, when they would be further ahead without them. Tobirama told them the same thing he told me and most of the clan kids understood.

Still, I could see that even while they understood they didn't agree. A lack of training now could mean death at a later time. Something they were loudly arguing about during our break. At first, they didn't want to have me and Tsunade with them during these talks, with us being close to the Hokage. They thought that we would snitch on them and tell Tobirama. However, I was of the same opinion which calmed them down.

Some of them had the idea to form their own study group and train on their own after school. A lot were not happy with the training and learning even after school. The group shrunk to only a few students. Tsunade would have been one of them, had I not stayed to the end. She liked to train with me and our parents, but not with others.

I would have gone along if they had someone to supervise us. We would need someone more skilled to give us new things to learn. Standard training, I could do on my own, I wouldn't need them for that. And Tobirama has sometimes time to help both me and Tsunade. He was a great teacher if it comes to Jutsu and training.

In the end, the whole thing didn't amount to anything. We were clan kids, we could always train with our clan and with the suggestion of doing something else during lesions we had effectively eliminated the major annoyance of the academy.

So, weeks and months passed and school stayed boring. The lessons were upped and I gained skills in weapon throwing, hand to hand combat, tracking, sneak, herbalism and foraging. During all the time I tried to improve my own attributes as much as possible while levelling the skills I deemed the most important. Sealing, Chakra Manipulation, Chakra Enhancement, Observation, Pain Resistance, Sneak, and Chakra Sensing.

It was hard to gain experience in Pain Resistance and Sealing. The first required to get wounded, while the other only grew under Mito's tutelage or when I activate a functioning seal I have drawn myself. Inventing seals might also give me quite a lot of exp, but I was far away from archiving such a feat. I wasn't even allowed to draw seals.

I also tested my Observation on my classmates and Tsunade. Their attributes were all in a range of 10 to 30. Normal civilians have a range of 10 to 20.

Our teacher has her highest attribute in intelligence, which is at 125, the rest ranges between 80 and 100. She is either a weak Chunin or they all have such low stats. I think she is weak, why else would she work with children in a militaristic nation. I still couldn't identify the attributes of my parents or family.

But not all was rosy and boring. It was around the middle of our academy time when my hint turned true and Hashirama died. Tsunade was really sad but overcame the pain with the help of our parents. It also helped that Hashirama has distanced himself from us in the last year.

He was often sick and tried to avoid any physical contact. Both Tsunade and I were also often under a diagnostic Jutsu whenever he left from a visit. They never found anything.

I learned what he has had after the funeral, they finally told me, but not Tsunade. It were Chakra Parasites. A rare parasitic worm-like animal that eats the Chakra pathways of its host.

Normally these parasites are easily spotted, symptoms are showing quickly after infection. But Hashirama's strength worked against him, his Chakra was so strong that the effect of the worms was negligible. Once they did show it was already too late and they had done so much damage that he would die anyway.

It happened sometime during the First War, they think he got infected somewhere near Kiri, where this parasite is at home in the swamps. Doctors have told him that he wouldn't live more than a year with such a destroyed system.

He showed his badassery by living 5 years longer than they thought possible. He wanted to spend the most possible time with both Tsunade and me. That's why he has stepped down as the Hokage and was trying to use as little Chakra as possible.

His death was a bleak part of our academy days, yet school and life kept going on. We lost more and more fellow students each year. In the end, we were only two full remaining classes. There were some students I knew from the anime. Three in total.

There was Jiraiya, the class clown and dead last. Still, as the dead last he was stronger than all the others who have dropped out.

Then there is Orochimaru, the quiet genius of the class. He was as good as I with our course work. He was also good at sparring, but not the best.

The last one I knew was Hatake Sakumo, the future White Fang. He was really good in sparring and already wearing a sword.

Tsunade was the best female student, with me being the best male student. It was easy for me to be the best, both my endurance and intelligence were a lot higher than that of the rest. And I think luck allowed me to land a few good lucky hits during our mock fights. We also were tutored by our family, none arguably the strongest family in the world.

The Uchiha came second, many of them have survived the first Shinobi war, but Madara has already defected. So, Mito must have the Kyuubi sealed inside herself, the seal must be good enough for me to not sense Kurama.

That is pretty much what happened during my academy days. We were now at the end of our student life and had just finished the final test. It was easy, only a couple of questions hidden behind a weak Genjutsu. Then a spar against a Chunin instructor, who wasn't really strong, but still better than every one of us. Followed by Shuriken and Kunai throwing. Then came a few Jutsu we have had to show the instructor. Bunshin, Kawarimi and Henge, those three were easy and the first three Jutsu I have learned. I was one and a half when dad taught them to me.

Which brings me to something about my Game system and specialized single-use Jutsu. They only have ten levels of mastery. All three of the basics were level ten, doing so was quite easy. A lot of it has to do with your Chakra Manipulation, the better this one was the easier it is for you to learn Jutsu. Each level makes the Jutsu stronger, by increasing the strength, lowering the needed Chakra

costs or by increasing some other effect of the Jutsu.

Still, the basic three were that, basic. Only the Kawarimi is truly useful. The other two are easily spotted and ended by even Genin. We could also show our own Jutsu for bonus points. I have learned a few from Tobirama. He tested both me and Tsunade on our Chakra Element, Tsunade was earth, while I was wind.

Training that was a bitch and takes time, but the Jutsu can be devastating. I have two C-Rank Jutsu and a handy D-Rank. Wind Blade and Vacuum Projectile are damaging Jutsu, while my D-Rank, Gust of Wind, is none lethal and used to dispense fog, clouds of smoke or dust. If activated with enough Chakra it can 'level up' into something like Great Breakthrough.

Wind Elemental Chakra Manipulation; LV 25 (49%) Passive;

Gather and manipulate your Chakra into Wind Chakra, it is used for every Wind Jutsu.

Current transformation rate; 6 Chakra for 1 wind Chakra.

That's the Jutsu skill I got from training Elemental Manipulation. Turns out that my Chakra Manipulation in combination with this skill determines how effective I use my Chakra. I need two Chakra for every skill thanks to my LV 45 Chakra Manipulation, with another six thanks to my Elemental Manipulation. Thankfully it is rounded up.

And fuck yes! I have finally finished my academy days and both Tsunade and I earned our Hitai Ate. It was a major quest that gave me half a level and five Game Points.

Quests that give experience or stuff are rare and I only ever got one for major things like the test I got from Mito at the start of my Fuinjutsu training. I did get quests from tasks given by someone, yet those never gave me experience. Those were also mundane quests like do the dishes and so on. The system must not want to spam me with quests.

Luckily, there is only one settlement to protect.

As for my Game Points, I haven't used any of mine so far, not sure in what field I want to proceed. There were a few I would like to do. There was the Ninjutsu path, I would need to further increase my intelligence and endurance, both of them are already quite high. It would offer itself to further increase them, but I would become predictable and not really versatile.

I could also become a tank by increasing my strength and endurance. Destroying everything in my path with brute strength and persistence. Not really something that is promising a long life, so also discarded. And once Tsunade learns her strength Jutsu I can learn it from her.

I opened my status menu to take a look at my attributes.

Okay, from my observations I have gathered that having luck over 20 is rare. My 50 are basically Overkill. Most people also have not much in charisma, those who do are specialized in politics and seducing. Both are not in my wanted careers.

I always liked to be fast, something that is a combination of reflex and a bit on strength. I think I'll take the speed type variant. Focusing on reflex, endurance and strength. I'll just have to bring Tobirama to teach me his Shadow Clone Jutsu. He recently invented it and I was eager to learn. He will, but only after becoming Genin and then only if I promise to be careful.

He knew that I have enough Chakra. It was by now as high as that of a Chunin.

Chakra is made out of two parts, a physical and a mental part. Yin-Chakra is the mental part and is generated by intelligence, while Yang-Chakra is the physical part. It is created by the body so by my endurance. Both are really high. Endurance is laughably easy to raise. Every exercise that takes one of my attributes into account raises the attribute with enough training. Endurance is used for healing, using Chakra and physical actions like skills. So, it's only natural that it will quickly increase.

Now that I have become a Genin Tsunade and I walked home. She was wearing her headband as a hairband, while I had mine wrapped around my biceps. We greeted the few other Senju with a friendly wave. When we reached our house she kicked the door open and proclaimed loudly that we were now real Ninja.

I fondly bonked her on the head for the rude entrance and walked past her into the study, she followed with a pout. "As Tsu-chan said, we both have graduated. She is Kunoichi of the year, with me being Shinobi of the year." I said in greeting to Tobirama, Grandma Mito and mom. Dad is out on a mission. Tobirama was using his Shadow Clones for the paperwork, this way he can be with us for our graduation party.

Mom stood up from her chair and swept both Tsunade and me into a big hug. "I'm so proud of you. Already Genin, my, your father will be so proud of you."

I wiggled out of her embrace and walked over to Tobirama. "Tobi-jii, you promised," I said with my best puppy dog eyes. Tsunade was leagues better, but my own was still effective against the immediate family.

He reached out with his Chakra to feel for my own and nodded before going slowly through hand seals. "This is a Kinjutsu with reason Kenshiro-kun. It will half your Chakra equally and produce a physical copy of yourself. The copy will disperse with a single solid hit but can be used for Jutsu support or espionage. Once they disperse they will relay everything they have experienced. They will also give you their fatigue.

The Chakra requirements are high but can be lowered with experience. Don't overdo it or you have a real chance of dying." He warned sternly and finished his seals. A puff of smoke erupted from the seat next to him and a perfect copy of himself came out of it.

"So cool, am I allowed to do the same?" Asked Tsunade in awe. She knew the danger of Kinjutsu and wouldn't do them if she herself didn't understand the risk or were told that she can't do them.

"No, you don't have enough Chakra yet. I'll give you a few new texts about medical Jutsu, as well as a B-Ranked medical Ninjutsu." Denied Tobirama, but not without giving her something that she would greatly benefit from.

Yes, Tsunade has already started to become a medical Ninja. After Hashirama's death, she had made it her goal to become the best medical Ninja alive, I told her what happened to him. She roped me in to train with her.

The training's program for medical Ninja wasn't very good. There were a scarcely few good training methods for Chakra control. I either invented my own or used methods that were explained in fanfictions. They were hard, yes, but also greatly rewarding. My Chakra Manipulation was steadily growing. And Tsunade loved the time we trained together.

And now that I have the Shadow Clones it will become even faster, maybe they will even increase my intelligence. Endurance has to be raised on my own, but I already have a plan for that.

I thanked Tobirama by giving him a hug that he awkwardly returned. Once I broke the hug he was assaulted by Tsunade's flying tackle hug.

We ate some sweets and talked about our future Genin life. Mom was the one who asked who we think we will have as our teammates.

"I don't care, as long as it isn't that idiot Jiraiya. He is always goofing around, he pranks the teachers and has the worst scores during tests." Huffed Tsunade with crossed arms. She really doesn't like him, especially his perverted behaviour.

Somehow, she is very aware of her lacking chest. I had pointed out that she is only six, but she didn't want to listen.

The adults chuckled in amusement. "Too bad then, you will most likely be going to be in a team with him," I said and laughed at her expression.

"Why do you think that Kenshiro-kun?" Asked Tobirama. He sounded a tiny little bit surprised, he must have known the team constructions already.

"I've taken a look at the graduating teams prior to us. They always create a few specialized teams for tracking, if possible a Nara-Yamanaka-Akamichi team, a demolition team and so on. There are only two exceptions. Leftovers, those who don't match into any of these specialized teams and a single team that is made out of the best male and female student, as well as the worst student."

"Hell yes, I'm going to be in a team with Ken-kun!" cheered Tsunade loudly.

"Probably not," I said. She looked at me with a disheartening expression. "It's not that I don't want to be in a team with you, but it is highly unlikely. Think about it, we both are of the main Senju family. I am the heir and you are the Senju princess. We are now Ninja, our lives will be dangerous. If something happens to our team we both would be dead. The chance of one of us surviving are higher if we are in separated teams. No, they will put the second-best male in my place. That means Orochimaru. So, your team will be made out of Orochimaru and Jiraiya."

"Good deduction, yes you are right. You two will be in separate teams. Once you are Chunin you might do team missions, but not until then," agreed Tobirama.

Tsunade wasn't happy with that. "You can always punch Jiraiya in the face," I offered. She grinned and chuckled darkly, an aura of doom began to surround her, the poor white-haired boy.

"Who do you think you will be teamed up with?" questioned grandma Mito.

I thought about that for a moment, before shrugging. "Don't really know. I have the requirements for a Ninjutsu specialization. Probably a front-line team, those who hit hard and strong."

"I'm sure you'll be the best in any team," encouraged Tsunade, assured of her own words.

I gave her a thankful smile in return. "And you will become the best medic in the world."

"Damn right I will. Those who think medics are weak will fear me," she said smugly and grinned before grabbing me. "Come Ken-kun we have to train to become awesome. Tobi-jii, where are the scrolls you've promised?"

"In my study, you two go to the training field, I'll bring them over after tea," chuckled Tobirama, amused by Tsunade's enthusiasm.

"Don't forget!" Warned Tsunade playfully while dragging me out of my seat and the room. We run through the compound towards our own training field. Once there she released her hold on my hand and sat down.

I sat down opposite her and we began our Chakra control training. There are few of them in this world. Leaf spinning is one of the easier ones, tree walking and water walking are both also well known. It generally came down to sticking something at you and move it around. The heavier the thing you stick at you the harder it becomes to move them, which increases your Chakra capacity. Smaller things are also difficult, they need more fine control, which increases your Chakra control. That's it, there weren't any other invented methods.

But I had possible knowledge of different training methods. Those who are imagined by authors of fictions. They at least were logically sound, which is why I tried to replicate some.

For example, the pebble throw. Tsunade has a pebble on her flat palm, she is trying to coat her Chakra around the pebble and then push it away from her own body towards me. I have to catch the pebble with the palm of my hand and let it stick.

She has to use a strong pulse of Chakra, while I have to use a precise time to let it stick. Too little and she won't reach me, too much and she can't control its flight path. While I had to concentrate on the exact time to let my Chakra stick to it. If I use too much it will ricochet off, too little and it won't stick.

This was only one of my Chakra control exercises. One other uses different coloured sand, mixed into a pile. You have to sort each sand corn out and place it away from the other colours, all without touching it.

Another one can be used for cleaning. You stick your Chakra to the dirt and dust on the floor and pick it up. The hard part is to not stick to the floor, you'll have to create a small buffer between the floor and the dirt. It can be used for cleaning dishes as well, but too much Chakra leaves scratches.

Anyway, we trained like this for some time, while my clone did the coloured sand training. At one-point Tobirama came and gave Tsunade a pile of scrolls. Diagnostic Medical Jutsu, Jutsu for blood clotting, healing small wounds, repairing bones, the Mystical Palm Jutsu and Chakra Scalpel Jutsu, as well as medical books about the human body and diseases. All in all, Tobirama gave Tsunade all the stuff she would need for a full-fledged medic. Her present was way larger than the Shadow Clones I got. Maybe he wants to show her that he thinks that she could to learn all this. In a roundabout way telling her that he believes in her.

I looked over them and asked if I could learn as well.

From her expression, I could see that she didn't want to, but at the same time wants to have someone to train with. I dropped the matter and trained some more Chakra control, while she went through the scrolls. I could think up a couple of reasons for that behaviour.

I dispelled the clone that was training and saw its memories as if watching a film. A quick look at my status showed that I have only gained a fourth of the usual experience. Well, that was it with my cheat idea. Another cheat of the anime that isn't possible in the real world. Anyone would have used them otherwise. It's easier to train the normal way if they give only a fourth of their knowledge back with all their drawbacks. No wonder Kakashi told Naruto that he was one of only 9 in the world who can train like this.

I'm still gonna use them, my Gamer's Body annuls most drawbacks. They just won't be as useful.
