Chapter-4

Sunlight invaded Laura's eyes and disrupted her beauty sleep. She rubbed her eyes as she sat back on the bed. She yawned and looked at the window through which the sunlight was entering the room making the whole room lit up. She finally started to observe her surroundings. The room was plain white and there were white see-through curtains. There was only one chair in the room and a small side cabinet near her bed.

Soon enough her observation was interrupted by a soft knock on the door. Before she could reply in came to Olivia. She smiled and said, "Hows you feeling now?" She nodded in response. Olivia said, "Our pack elders wanted to meet you." Her face fell at the name of meeting someone other than Olivia and she added quickly, "Only if you want to."

Olivia knew her situation and was trying her best not to trigger her past memories. Still, she had to answer Olivia's question. Although she didn't want to meet anyone, she knew the pack was already being generous by letting her stay, after saving her life. She should also try to be at least more respectful towards them. Thinking that Laura looked at Olivia who was waiting for an answer and nodded lightly making sure she is ready to meet them.

Olivia smiled and said, "Wait here, they are out in the hall, lemme call them." Without waiting for reply Olivia excitedly stood up and went out only to come back with her husband and an old man in his late sixties.

The man said, "I am Jaden, the beta of Lunar pack." She nodded to confirm, but elder in the room was frozen. It seemed like he has seen a ghost. He said in a really low voice, "It can't be true..." This took everyone's attention. His eyes filled with tears and as his, both eyes released them so did he released his emotions. He said in a cracking voice, "T-Thanks! Oh, thank M-Moon Goddess."

This concerned everyone and Jaden asked, "Master Masimo, you okay?" Masimo went to the Laura which reflexed back a bit but stopped soon. He hugged the girl and said, "I was waiting for you. I knew she couldn't be wrong. I knew it!"

Jaden this time was more concerned as he raised his voice, "Master what are you saying?"

He unhugged them and looked at Jaden with his eyes filled with joy and his smile which was stretched ear to ear. He said, "You finally got your Alpha."

Jaden raised a brow showing his confusion, only to get the reply from Masimo, "She is your Alpha!"

For instance, everyone was stunned in the room. But Jaden broke out first asking, "What are you saying? She is a girl. She cannot be Alpha. Plus, look at her she is too week to be an Alpha!"

He shouted at the last part not able to control his anger anymore. For the very start to his beta-life journey, he had wished to have an Alpha. It was not only his dream everyone in the pack wanted to have one. It was no joke for Jaden especially, as he has waited his whole life till now to find his Alpha.

Masimo just smiled at him and said, "She is strong as well as your Alpha and I am not joking around Jaden."

Now Jaden was not angry he was furious. How dare master compares such a great person which Jaden have adored his whole life, to a week and unknown girl."

But Masimo said, "It is our destiny. She is our Alpha as she is the daughter of Vanessa." This shut Jaden mouth but this time Olivia asked, "How do you know that?"

He smiled and said, "Her eyes. They are as green as hers." Olivia added, "But-" But Masimo cut her by, "I am right, aren't I?" He was looking at Laura who was completely unknown to the situation. But she knew that he was trying to prove that she is their Alpha, which she was sure, she is not. So she shook her head fractionally. Masimo smiled and said, "She told me, you will come back, will come back to take revenge."

"You can do this. Can't you Laura." For the first time in life, someone called her by the name she thought was hers. No one even bothered to ask her name. But this person knew her name which she was sure, not told even at the previous pack. She was stunned for a moment but asked, "How do you know my name?"

Her voice was hoarse because of not talking for so long. She eventually used to practice talking to herself as she was not interested in talking to others who could beat her for not getting the expected answer. But her voice actually shocked Olivia who asked, "You can speak?"

Laura gave her a confused look and said, "I guess so." She asked again in a more stuttering manner, "W-why didn't you talk to me than?"

Laura said in the simplest manner, "Because you never asked anything."

Olivia said, "B-but..."

Suddenly the room filled with Masimo's laugh. To which everyone kept their quite as she was unsure of what to do or what to react. After he was done, Laura said, "By what you say, I think you know about my past. Can you please tell me?"

Masimo said, "Not only you, everyone in the pack needs an explanation."

He looked at Jaden and said, "Call an urgent meeting."

Olivia looked at Laura who was a bit worried when Masimo said meeting, but she kept her best straight face. Olivia said, "I want to join the meeting too." Masimo looked at her as she came forward and put her hand on her shoulder. Laura looked at Olivia and she smiled at her.

Masimo understood her situation and nodded agreeing her to come. Laura was a bit relaxed now and she was looking forward to the meeting. Because she was sure to have her answers now. The question that she kept inside her for so long will finally be answered for her.

She determined it in her mind that no matter what the reality would be she would do what would be necessary. Necessary for her and her parents, which was sure, she had once lived her life, even if it was for only a few years...
