Exchanging gold and unexpected surprise

The very next day Bhairav did not go to school. He woke up and showered, ate breakfast. After breakfast he immediately left for slums in the city because there are shadow brokers there who exchange gold for money without government permission. These slums are also where shadow guild is situated.

Before entering the slums he wore a metal black mask with devil's pattern on it. First he scouted the place and heard conversations. The people in the slums are really shady looking and had raw looks.

There is a small hotel where he ordered samosa and heard conversations.

"Hey did you hear there is a robbery that happened in the shadow guild" said a man to his friend sitting in the opposite table.

"Really I didn't expect no one would dare to cause problems in shadow guild. I don't know who the poor guy is but his fate is sealed because they will hunt him down like mad dogs" said the other man.

Bhairav felt something strange about this conversation because no ordinary person can mess with the shadow guild because it a cruel underground organization. So someone is deliberately trying to offend the shadow guild.

So that means the offending party might be strong or he has a powerful backing. Bhairav started eating the samosa and heard the conversation happening in the right table.

"Hey, I exchanged my gold at "Prakash Exchanges" for very high price" said the person. "At what price?" asked the other person. "He shouted "1 gold at Rs8000". "Don't talk loud" said the other person.

Bhairav was a bit surprised because no one exchanged gold in such high ration. The legal brokers exchanged at maximum of Rs3500. Even other shadow brokers exchanged at a maximum of Rs5000.

Bhairav decided that he would go to this place to exchange the gold. After eating and paying the money he immediately left for Prakash Exchanges.

He knew where the exchange store is because he had already scouted out during his initial travel. After 5 minutes he reached there.

Bhairav could also sense that he is being followed by someone. They have been following him as soon as he entered the slums. He did not care about their intentions but he definitely kept a eye on them.

Bhairav entered the store and he is immediately greeted by a middle aged man. "Hello how can I help you?" asked the man.

The man guessed Bhairav might be a member of shadow guild since they are the only people providing work for children below 14.

"I am here to exchange gold for money" said Bhairav. "Do you have the identification card of a guild?" asked the store owner.

"No" replied Bhairav. The store owner sighed and replied "Since this is your first time here I will say something. Leave this illegal life"

Bhairav after hearing this words said " I am not a member of shadow guild ,adventure guild, hunter guild or mercenary corps. I am a person who wants to make money for the family that is suffering so I hunted monsters outskirts of the city".

The store owners eyes widened after what he heard. The reason is for hunting in the dungeons you need permission of particular guilds or corps since they own the dungeons but when it comes to monster territories the situation is different because no one wants to own a territory of monsters for themselves. Those territories are only used by the organizations to train their rookies. No one would go there alone to take on monsters over there because the chances of surviving are slim.

Bhairav understood this loophole perfectly. Not even government owns those lands so anyone can go there to train or level up. The other reason the store owner was startled is because Bhairav alone hunted those monsters. Even the class awakened people are also wary of monster territories.

Since he hunted them in the monster territories there is no need for any guild identification. The store owner's face after sometime turned to smile. He understood the child in front of him is not an ordinary child. If he becomes a daily customer then there is a lot of business to be made.

Bhairav after seeing the smile on the store owner's face smiled which is not visible due to the mask. He deliberately told that he hunted monsters in monster territory because it would definitely pique the interest of the store owner.

"Allow me to introduce myself I am prakash the owner of this store" said Prakash. Bhairav replied "My real name will be a mystery but you can call me by title "Bhayankar"(Dangerous)".

"So what will you be exchanging Mr. Bhayankar?" asked Prakash. Immediately Bhairav laid out 4000 gold coins and along with it the equipment which he collected.

"Take your time and estimate the amount of cash I will be getting" said Bhairav. Prakash was astonished by the amount of gold and equipment. He immediately opened the virtual computer in his shop and made calculations.

1 gold coin = Rs8000 so 4000 gold coins = 8000*4000=3,20,00,000.

The equipment which he got sold for 100000. So he got crores of money for just 1 hunt. The store owner asked for a pay cube to pay Bhairav but Bhairav did not have any pay cube. So Bhairav said "Cut the amount for a pay cube which I am going to purchase from you and deposit the remaining amount into the pay cube".

Prakash did what Bhairav asked and cut 60,000 for the cube and the amount remained is 3,20,40,3000. Bhairav put the cube in his pocket. Prakash asked "Will you be coming in the future?"

Bhairav replied "I will but it will take sometime since I need to take care of some urgent issues". The store owner is very happy hearing that. The store owners can sell their gold at very high prices to jewelers for huge amounts of money. Prakash asked "Why did you come here instead of Legal brokers?"

"You should know the answer to that. It will bring too much of attention on me. If they come to know about what I did there is a chance that government will start selling the monster territories to guilds or other corps. If that happens then people like us will suffer the most because we would need their identity to go there to earn money" replied Bhairav.

Prakash is shocked hearing the words of Bhairav because there is truth in what he said. He could not believe the child in front of him had thought that far. Prakash knows how the poor and middle class are suffering in the country. He also knows how the rich treat these two classes. Prakash also decided to keep quiet about this matter because of this reason.

Bhairav saluted him with two fingers and left. Bhairav transferred to cube to inventory and said "You can stop following and talk to me".

"So you noticed" said the person following. "Oh! I've noticed you following me the moment I entered the slums" said Bhairav.

The man was a bit surprised but he removed the hood he was wearing. Bhairav looked and said "So my suspicious appearance has attracted the shadow guild".

"How did you know?" asked the person. "At first when you were following me I could not guess but the conversation from the hotel made me realize that you are following suspicious characters" said Bhairav.

"Oh, what conversation it might be?" asked the person. "The conversation where I heard that shadow guild has been robbed" said Bhairav.

"You are really sharp" said the person. "I am not the robber and if you want to check you can ask the store owner for the equipment I have sold" replied Bhairav.

The person asked "Why do you think it would be equipment?" testing Bhairav. Bhairav rolled his eyes and said "If they wanted money they could have robbed a bank or the brokers. Shadow guild is very powerful and has many unique and rare items. So I guessed that it might be rare equipment or items".

The person clapped and said "Astounding reasoning". Bhairav narrowed his eyes and said "Stop with your superficial compliments and say what you want of me".

"Pardon me I am Jalandhar from Shadow guild and I have been spying for suspicious characters for the guild since the incident. Somebody deliberately robbed the guild and enraged us but they don't have the guts to declare themselves" said Jalandhar.

"Ever since you came here your actions have been suspicious since you have been collecting some information. The way you dressed yourself also raised suspicion so I followed you" said Jalandhar.

Bhairav sighed and said "I have been collecting information about the gold exchange rates not about the shadow guild. I have not intention of harming the shadow guild"

Jalandhar nodded and replied "I know that but you have definitely surprised me because going alone to the monster territory alone and coming alive is a extraordinary feat".

Bhairav narrowed his eyes and said "So eavesdropping huh?". Jalandhar replied "No need to worry since the information is not going to get out".

"Oh I know that you guys are not going to spread the information" said Bhairav in a sarcastic tone. "Why do you say that?" asked Jalandhar.

"Isn't it obvious ? you definitely will not allow the other guilds or mercenary corps to take hold of those territories before having your own share of profit" said Bhairav.

Jalandhar looked at Bhairav and thought "He is one little cunning fox". "You definitely would not have come face to face with me if you had the intention of spreading this information" added Bhairav.

"You are right. I have come here to invite you to join the shadow guild" said Jalandhar. Bhairav smiled and said "Oh before coming here I decided that I would join the shadow guild but I changed my mind".

"Why is that?" Jalandhar asked as he was surprised. "I know what happens if I join the shadow guild even as a freelancer. So after coming here I decided that rather than joining you guys I decided that I would cooperate with you guys".

The gaming knowledge he had is very useful here. He used the tricks of games to get what he want.

"What kind of cooperation?" asked Jalandhar. "I will go to the monster territories specified or discovered by the guild and farm for gold and other equipment. After getting the items we share the profits 50:50".

Jalandhar is surprised of what Bhairav said. "You could have given us much less ratio" asked Jalandhar.

"Perhaps but information is the bloodline of any business. You guys will be the ones scouting for territories and I will be only farming those territories and also I would ask for protection from the guild if my family is in danger" replied Bhairav.

Jalandhar though for a while and said "Your proposal is more than beneficial. I will talk with guild master and arrange a meeting where we can sign the agreement".

Bhairav gave Jalandhar his secret phone number and took Jalandhar's phone number. Jalandhar said that they would call him on the day of agreement and left.

It is afternoon when he returned home. His mother was at office. They had a normal TV in the house. So he turned it on.

"System take the amount from the cube and clear my debt" said Bhairav.

"As you wish host" said the system and cleared the debt. Even after clearing the debt he is left with 3,20,30,000.

The news channel was running and when Bhairav looked at the news his eyes widened. "Well this is an unexpected surprise" said Bhairav with a cruel smile.
