The Garden of Death

The Warp was used as a means to travel the galaxy in mere moments, but the Warp is much more than that. Think of it as a coin where one side you are awake, the other, you go to sleep to dream of better things that you wished to have and when you're not dreaming you have nightmares of creatures that you dared not exist but all they could do was scare you, then when you awake they can't hurt you. Now what if someone made a hole through the coin so that you could see the other side, where nightmares and demons came to real space but they not only scare you but also kill you? The Warp is not all evil, we live our lives with emotions every single day and the Warp is why we feel emotions as well as dream and create, but those who live in real space should never go there for the Warp, has no sense of past, present or future, there is no fixed point.

Pain, why I am in so much pain right now, If I had known that dyeing hurt this much I would have thought of another plan. I stand up from the decaying ground, still clade in my power armour, I opened my eyes to see a forest not like any I have seen before, I saw trees covered in green pus from weeping eyes that stared back at me, from this new found scene I grabbed my Bolt rifle even though I have my pistol and power sword, Last Fang, I do not intend for anything to get close and took a defensive position, readying myself for whatever comes at me.

The minutes pass but they feel like hours, standing in this grotesque forest making sounds that were vile to hear, the sudden sound of growling could be heard around me, now that they have tipped their hand I am ready for anything, I start to scan the area not letting anything surprise me, now the growling stopped, my eyes were still scanning the forest line until I spotted two golden orbs staring at me from the shadows of the forest, not making any moves or taking my finger off the trigger, getting a better look at the pair of golden orbs as they moved out of the shadows, were the eyes of a wolf bigger than normal but certainly not as big as the wolves of Fenris, the colour of its fur is black and grey a mixture of the two across its entire body. I stood there not even thinking of taking my bolter off its head, I watched as it came closer, enough that I could pull out my sword and behead it without blinking.

We stood there for a few minutes staring at each other and I lowered my bolter, coming to the conclusion that if he wanted me dead then this would have played out differently and much quicker. Then suddenly there was booming laughter that made the ground shake and the deformed trees rejoiced at the sound, this drew our attention away from each other. The black, grey wolf started to walk towards the forest heading deeper into the darkness not having a single clue as to where I was, my options were limited, thinking about my situation. I made the conclusion to follow the wolf down this rotting path, I have seen battlefields where the dead number millions and I have killed thousands if not tens of thousands, but this smell makes me sick to the core even through my helmet, not even my eyes were spared from torture, that I see man-eating plants with eyes and multiple mouths growing from decaying bodies where the skin could peel off to reveal maggots squirming underneath the rotten flesh.

We walked for what felt like days which was long enough for my hair start to growing back on my head, we didn't stop, the wolf led me through the dense forest nothing insight besides the vulgar-looking trees but I had a feeling the reason why we haven't stopped is because, a sudden guttural roar was heard throughout this Emperor forsaken jungle, the wolf stopped, looked at me with tired eyes like he knew what I was thinking, I sighed and thought "Me and my big mouth." Seconds later a massive slug-like beast with two arms and one eye, (It was huge) its skin was green and pustules all over its body, and its mouth was a gaping maw with a stench of rotten corpses.

As the beast showed its ugly face to me, I decided to kill it, I fired my bolter right into its gut blowing a few holes into its bloated belly, it didn't even flinch. Then it launched its overburdened body to crush me, the wolf ran and I rolled out of the way of this creature, preceding to fire more rounds into the back of the creature where there was a mark and a large pustule, it didn't like that, so I did it again, shoot a few more rounds into it," You like that bit*h!" The creature roared out in pain and then swung its tail directly to my side, straight through a tree and then another one, until I hit a solid rock wall as I leaned out from the space marine-sized hole, a bit of blood came from my mouth and I feel like I cracked my rib cage.

Both of us were near death and this monster looked at me like I was his next meal, it spewed his previous meal right over me, now covered head to boot in orange stomach acid "Really, you couldn't hold it in?" feeling anger surge through me I grabbed the krak grenade and throw it right down its throat, "Eat this". The beast stared at me with a puzzled expression wondering what it just eaten, a second later the beast imploded, its top half now scattered across the forest and covered me in another layer of filth. I stood up from the rubble of the rock I hit, I lumbered over towards the beast having no idea what It was, "What are you?" The wolf approached from behind and alongside me "It is a demon, these lands and the Warp are filled with all kinds we best be careful." "A demon, lets us move on. " I walked a few steps then stood still "You can talk? The first words I have said aloud were, You like that bit*h. Why didn't you say anything?" I stared blankly at the wolf, "because you didn't ask anything." As the conversation between the two was raging, the mark on the back of the demon began to glow green and faint laughter could be heard.
