THE LAST RAY OF HOPE CHAPTER 3

The Fateful Encounter

"K..K…Ken is that you!?" They all were shocked as they saw each other. They were all in tears. It was a touching reunion. Ken's conditions were serious he was on the verge of collapsing because of hunger and thirst. They asked Ken about him. How he ended up here and so Ken told them about what happened back then .....

As Ken was coming toward his home. His bus got attacked by a zombie. They didn't know what he was all they saw that there was blood on his clothes and he got a broken leg and didn't have ears. Their teacher let him in to give him first aid and the bus started immediately. It was a huge feast for that cursed zombie. As he was bleeding all over, the teacher goes towards him intending to give him first aid but he suddenly attacked the teacher and bit off his ear it scared the living hell out of everyone. The driver was soo terrified by this, that he lost control of the bus and it flipped over. Almost every student died some student's heads were cut off, some got their limbs or legs cut off and they were left venerable for zombies and crows to eat them away alive without even leaving the bones. Fortunately, Ken was unharmed but the smell of blood and screams attracted zombies from all over the place. It was an area of the wheat field so there wasn't any place left to hide. Ken ran as fast as possible but when he looked back, he saw his friend was getting eaten. Zombie pluck out his eyes and ate them. It was a brutal scene. Soon that area was filled with an extremely strong stench of blood and screams of children of all ages. yellowish wheat that was once pleasant to eyes turned blood red as if they were drinking their blood and eating their bodies. No one was left. Everyone was equally and brutally killed without any mercy. He ran and ran and ran without any break and in the end, he reached this abandoned town. He was praying that when he turned around there wouldn't be anyone but some of the zombies' bastards followed him and made him trap himself on this rooftop. He was hungry and his throat was dry after all the running he did. He was on the verge of losing his consciousness. He thought that he should at least put a help sign Board and ask for help from someone who might be passing by. So, they could save him or at least give him food and water so that he could survive. But no one came there. Two days had passed, these 2 days were the longest in his life. He thought no one is going to come into this abandoned region and he is going to die all alone with no one who would remember him and so he almost lost all of his hope. But as he was starving to death. The door opened he saw a glimmer of hope and when he saw it was Kite and Martin. They not only saved him during the time he was being bullied but also in this deadly situation. He

was almost dancing with excitement. But he didn't have enough energy. He was extremely thankful to both Kite and Martin for coming to his rescue. He was extremely grateful to God for sending them there to help him. (And this is how Ken ended his story about what happened to him in the past.)

Then he asked both Kite and Martin" what about you? why are you both here." Martin told him about everything that had happened in the past. He even told him about what happened to his (Ken's) family. After listening to that Ken started crying but after some time he calmed down. He was starving and his stomach was growling with hunger so Kite and Martin gave him the food and water so that he could eat and restore his strength. Then they planned on staying in that town for a few days because it was peaceful there and then they stayed there for 1 month. In this one month, neither one of them slacked in their training. Martin packed a lot of power, enough to crush a zombie with a single hand without an effort, he was the strongest of them all, Ken was extremely fast and always hit on vital points like head, spine, or neck and cut it with a clean hit. As for Kite, he wasn't as strong as Martin and as fast as Ken but he was smart enough to defeat almost anyone because of his strategies. They prepared themselves for the future and that 1 month passed in a blink of an eye.

After 1 month they planned to leave there. Kite planned that they are going to the police station so that they could get some guns and they were enough to deal with some zombies. Ken was surprised and shouted that "he didn't have any weapon what is going to do if some zombies come toward him? Is he gonna cut them with cutlery and kitchen knives? What, are you planning that I shit around while you take all the limelight!!?" Kite and Martin laughed for the first time after entering this cursed world.

Kite gave him a pair of Machete and Martin trained him for a few more days so that he can use his weapon efficiently and get used to using it without any restriction. After getting that machete Ken's efficiency increased drastically, and he became extremely powerful. (well it was also due to Martin's training him too.. :P)

And from there they started their new journey toward the police station. What fate had in store for them wasn't known by any of them. But as they moved toward the unknown. They create their own destiny fighting with this cruel world and tightly holding their last hope to make the world return to as it was before….
