Chapter 9: Tamed horse

"I'm asking you: Why are you crossing the fence? Do you think you can subdue that horse?"

The head of the soldiers, Egon, was shouting at Reynolds. Reynolds stared at him for a few seconds, but he did not say anything to him. He turned around and began walking towards the horse.

"I'm asking, where are you going? This is not your place to do anything you want."

This time, Egon shouted more loudly.

"Do I know you?" Reynolds asked Egon with a serious face.

You….!!!.. Egon's face became ash white. He never understood why Reynolds didn't even recognise him after breaking his ribs.

"I'm the head of the soldiers in this village. People call me Egon with respect, and I'm stopping you from messing up this ritual. Do you get it now, or should I teach you a lesson?" Egon said while showing his fist.

After listening to his nonsense, Reynolds recognised him. He is the one who got his ribs broken with his punch.

"Oh, you are Egon, the guy who got beaten by me last time." Reynolds said with a half-laugh and a half-sorry face.

"Don't go over the board. Last time I was careless, and that's why you gained the upper hand. But this time, with my punch, you will lose your teeth." He said it with an angry look.

Instead of watching the horses, people started staring at these two. Egon was ready to pounce at any time. Reynolds stood where he was, waiting for Egon.

Just as everyone thought there would be an intense fight, A loud, authoritative female voice came from behind me.

"What are you doing? Don't tell me that you are going to fight over the wedding ritual."

The lady who shouted was none other than Lady Juri. She was wearing a shiny black dress that was decorated with white pearls. The dress really matched her proud look. She slowly came near Egon.

"Tell me, Egon, what is happening here. Did he do anything wrong?" Lady Juri asked Egon with a stern look.

"Miss Juri, this man was going to cross the fence without a rope. So, I stopped him from entering the area. Instead of going back, he is still trying to cross the fence. So I confronted him."

Egon explained it like a good guy stopping a bad boy. There is a look of reverence in his eyes.

"Is he saying the truth?" Lady Juri asked Reynold.

"Yes. He is telling the truth." Reynold replied softly.

"Are you planning to mess up my wedding ritual? Do you know the punishment for doing this?"

She asked with an angry tone. There is a red tint to her face. She never expected that the servant her father brought would be a big troublemaker.

"I thought of subduing the horse; why are you accusing me of causing a mess?" He asked Lady Juri.

"If you really want to subdue the horse, where is the rope in your hands?" Lady Juri questioned him with a straight face.

"I don't need a rope to subdue it." He replied calmly.

Hahha… Egon started laughing with his mouth wide open and clapping with his hands.

"Guys, are you listening to what this person said? He said he didn't need a rope to subdue the horse."

He announced it loudly to everyone. With his shout, more people started laughing at Reynolds.

But surprisingly, Lady Juri did not get angry or laugh at him. She turned towards Egon and said, "Egon, are you making fun of my servant?" She asked while showing her cold face.

Egon came to a standstill with her words. He never expected Lady Juri to support Reynold. Even Reynold hadn't expected it.

"Miss, it's not me who's making fun of him. You also listened to his words. He said he didn't need a rope to subdue the horse. Without using rope or beating the horse, how can one subdue the animal?" He said like he was the victim here.

"Whether I use a rope or not is my choice. Who gave you the authority to stop me?" Reynolds said with a snicker.

"You are a normal person who came here to eat soft bread, and I'm the leader of soldiers. Do you think you are above me? I have full authority to stop anyone here."

Egon said while showing a threating finger. There is a deep red tint in his eyes.

Reynold really became angry this time.

"I have tolerated you until this moment because once I unintentionally broke your ribs. If you ever show me a threatening finger again, that will be the last day of your life."

Reynold spoke with a deep, mean tone. A cold shudder went through Egon's nerves. Lady Juri also never expected Reynold to have this side to him. Even though Reynold annoyed her many times, he never showed his anger at her.

"Both of you should stop making messes. I won't spare anyone if my wedding ritual is ruined because of you."

Lady Juri spoke loudly to calm the situation.

Without caring for her words, Reynold entered the arena without a rope in a flash. Because of this commotion, the horse also stood proudly at the centre of the arena.

Instead of going straight towards the horse, Reynold started circling around the horse. He slowly moved towards the horse. He raised his hand towards the face of the horse and started slowly walking towards it. Everyone thought the horse was going to kick him in the face. Egon wore a big smile on his face.

But contrary to their expectation, the horse started smelling Reynold's hand. Without retracting his hand, he slowly cradled the horse's neck with his other hand. The horse started wiggling its tail.

Reynold held the horse's head with both hands and gently kissed its forehead. He slowly mounted the horse and ran around the arena like a king taking a tour around the capital.

Egon was watching with his eyes wide open. Everyone was watching with a stupefied expression. They never expected things to go this way. One by one, people began cheering loudly. Finally, someone successfully tamed this strong wild horse, and the ritual was a success.

Even Lady Juri was watching Reynold with curious eyes. Now she realised why his father was boasting about him.

Reynold brought the horse to Lady Juri and left it in her care. The horse was really beautiful with its shiny black colour. Without even looking at Egon, he left the arena.

By the time he reached his room, there was a plate full of food placed beside his bed.

After taking a bath, he ate all the food and slept early. The thought of opening all meridians really excited him.

In the middle of the night, Garner came to his room to talk with him. But after seeing Reynolds sleeping, he left without disturbing him.

The next morning, Sweety brought different types of fruits for him. Along with her lady, Juri, also came.

"What a pleasant surprise! The great lady Juri came to visit a servant."

He said it while acting excitedly.

"Stop your sarcasm; I just came here to thank you for yesterday's matter." She said it with an annoyed expression.

"You don't need to thank me, miss. I just pitied that beautiful horse, and for the sake of protecting it from the torture, I subdued it." He replied calmly.

"Hmmm… You really have a glib tongue. I don't know why you did it. But it really healed. That's why I'm saying thank you." She said this while pouting.

"One of my friends said that angry girls will age faster. So, stop being angry. Otherwise, the prince will reject you at first glance."

Reynolds said it with a serious face, but inside he was laughing like a kid.

"Big brother, is what your friend said true?" Sweety asked him innocently.

"Sweety, he is talking absolute nonsense. Let's leave." Lady Juri Dragged Sweety outside. Reynold was laughing behind them.

Even though Lady Juri has a curved body and a beautiful face, Reynolds never thought anything inappropriate. At present, his only motive is to gain strength and take revenge on his family.

After completing the food brought by Sweety, he left the room.

While he was walking on the streets,No one laughed behind his back. People will respect those who have strength in this world. Without any care, he walked into the woods behind the village.

After selecting a secluded spot, he sat in a meditative posture.

"Leo, are you still sleeping inside?" He asked while staring at the kernel.

"You're really impatient. Can't you wait some more time?" Leo said with an annoyed expression.

"Stop wasting time; it's already too late. Tell me about the Qi circulation pattern." Reynolds said it with a serious face.

"It will be really tiresome to explain all the details of this qi manual. It is better if you start opening meridians while following my guidance."

Leo explained the process of opening meridians in a pattern and hurried Reynolds to open meridians.

Reynolds closed his eyes and took large amounts of qi inside him. Along with Qi, a mysterious energy from Leo Kernal flowed inside his meridians.

While Leo was guiding him by placing his paw on a meridian spot, Reynolds started opening meridians one by one.
