"So," Nathan Beardsley placed his fork and knife on a wide plate and wiped his mouth as he looked at Alina. "They've decided that the unusual red rash is a bad effect of the Healer?"
While Alina let out a long soft sigh, Nathan took a sip of his drink.
"Yeah," Alina said and then wiped her mouth with a white napkin. "That's the sad thing—and yes, it adds to our slump, humans. Scientists have confirmed the symptoms as a long-term effect of the Healer, especially, will appear in women."
"What percentage?"
Alina shook her head weakly. "We haven't been able to confirm that far. You know, it's going to take a lot more time—or at least, more victims emerge which I hope never happens."
"So do I."
Nathan took a deep breath. If the women who previously seemed less affected by the effects of the Healer, surely with the first incident that happened to Gabriela, became another deadly whip for mankind.
