The Last Dragon King: Keeping the royal bloodline clean

After his dying wish was heard, Percy, the world’s best player of Arion Online reincarnates in the world of the game as the Last Dragon King, Xar. Now, his destiny is to keep the royal bloodline of the Dragons safe and bring back the reign of dragons upon Arion’s nine kingdoms. But living as an NPC who’s marked as an antagonist is hard. Will it be him that survives the game or the millions of players from Earth who stand against him? “As the last Dragon King, it is your duty to keep our bloodline clean by taking whatever measures you must. Of course, this is a practice that we Dragons have been doing since ancient times. C12: A royal meeting - p2

Everyone at the table gazed in shock at me as I stood upon the table while the royal family meeting was still continuing.

"Um, Xar? Are you ok?" Melissa asked, worriedly.

I cleared my throat and coughed on my hand. "So –" When I gazed at the entire family watching me with confused faces, I felt slightly shy. But I continued nonetheless.

"Mother, I have seen visions of the battle at the Blood Moon in my dreams," I began. "I have foreseen what will happen in this Dragon Annihilation plot. Please, allow me to state what I saw here in this family meeting."

Melissa's eyebrows furrowed. "Foreseen this? How?"

A nice idea came to my mind and I replied: "I am the savior of this family. The last dragon king, Mother. I think it's natural for me to see our destruction even in my dreams so I could prevent it."

Everyone gazed at me with widened eyes. Chloe slurped her tea and gulped, watching me attentively.

"So, what is this big thing you foresaw, little brother?" Kaya questioned with a sharp gaze. The distrust was clear in her eyes.

I turned to Kaya and smiled. "Yes, I was just getting to that part. I saw your head planted on a spear, sister."

Kaya gasped, her eyebrows furrowing. I grinned upon seeing her reaction.

"Huh? Did you just – did you just LIE?" Kaya cried out furiously.

"I'm sorry, sister. You were asking for it." I replied.

"You little –"

"Enough of this nonsense already, Xar! Kaya! Please… Xar, you too now? Continue with what you foresaw. Don't take this as a joke," Melissa shouted angrily.

I felt embarrassed for a while and cleared my throat again, gazing at Mother. "Yes, Mother. I'm sorry. What I foresaw was the Divine Five coming to attack us at the Blood Moon."

There was utter silence at the table. At the mention of the Divine Five, everybody in the room was shocked.

Everyone knew who the Divine Five was, after all.

The world's greatest guild warriors.

"The Divine Five, little brother? And why are they coming to annihilate us? For money? For rewards?" Chloe asked, her tone getting serious for the first time.

For that question – I had no clear answer. But to make this believable, I had to come up with something to reply here. So I answered with what we usually did when I was in the Divine Five.

"Riches? Maybe, sister. But I think they are coming to defeat us as a trophy… to mark their names down in history as the ones who defeated the Dragons."

Melissa's eyebrows furrowed and her red eyes sharpened as if they were going to set up on fire. She banged the table furiously.

"How dare they," she murmured with a dark tone. "How dare they think of us as such lowly beings? They must be thinking of us like that Goblin King they've slayed years back… but when did our family stoop so low?" She asked herself, standing up from her chair.

'The Goblin King?' I repeated in my head.

Even I was there when that event took place. All of us in the Divine Five got our names carved on the history of Arion Online for that battle in the Gorgrond Caves where we defeated the Goblin King.

Melissa turned around and gripped her fist, concealing her anger. Everyone at the table gazed at her, waiting for her reply.

"Those puny Divine Five thought that they could take us alone, huh?" Melissa said, calming herself all of a sudden.

'Puny? The Divine Five? What level is she even?' I pondered. 'If she called the Divine Five puny, she must be powerful.'

"I can take on the Divine Five alone if I use the Dragonstone. And if we do defeat the Divine Five, we will strike fear into the hearts of those who seek to defeat us… after all, no one will know that my power came from the Dragonstone. If they think even the Divine Five was unable to defeat us, those warriors might stop seeking out to destroy our family."

It was a possibility, but that was uncertain. However, I felt relieved upon hearing that she could take on the Divine Five easily.

That meant my life was extended for a little longer at least.

"Yes. Guys, do not worry. I will protect you all in the coming Blood Moon," Melissa said reassuringly to the entire family. "I will protect you."

Everyone at the table sighed in relief.

Suddenly, Aunt Crystal appeared from the doorway and stood there with her arms crossed.

"Hm, our Dragon Prince is truly the savior of our bloodline, Melissa. I'm not agreeing to you taking this Bloodstone and using it against the coming foes, but if it's the Divine Five, I can't think of anyone who could defeat them with the power of the Dragonstone except you. You have my consent to use the stone."

Melissa smiled upon hearing this. "Finally, you're using your brain."

"WHAT DID YOU SAY?" Crystal cried out, veins popping out in her forehead.

Everyone at the table chuckled upon seeing this except Kaya, who was too grumpy to say anything.
