The Capital City Vermillion

Two weeks had passed and Leandrei finally reached the capital of Vermalan Empire, Vermillion. The capital Vermillion is the biggest city within the whole empire followed by the other two cities which house Cecilia Academy and Maximus Academy.

Throughout the journey Leandrei didn't just stay idle, instead he was training his mana sensitivity which would help him harness mana to create spells in the future and also more.

Currently Leandrei is walking around the streets of Vermillion specifically in the Market District, and obviously it being a place for selling and buying goods and services it's bustling with people. There are mothers buying ingredient for tonight's dinner and maids buying for their noble household.

In the midst of this crowds area Leandrei's eyes are attracted to a specific store called Neil's Bookstore.

'I should buy some books related to the history of the kingdom and nobility so I can be prepared for the academy which would be filled with arrogant noble descendants'. With this thought in mind he walks inside the store.

The store itself was made of dark-brown wood, inside it wasn't spacious but had shelves of various books.

Then appeared an old man with grey hair and beard, he stared at his young customer with his light blue eyes which are the most common in the empire. He was probably alerted by the bell that rang when Leandrei opened the door. Leandrei not being stupid took note of this and wasn't surprised by the store owner waiting for him while he was looking around the store.

Then he walked towards the old man and said "I need to buy books related to the history of the empire and its nobility".

The old man nodded and replied "You can look through the bookshelves over there if anything interests you while I prepare your order". With that he left through the door behind him take aquire the books.

Having nothing to do Leandrei does what the old man suggests and looks through the books. Soon a book catches his eyes, he takes it out and reads the title "Chaos Diary". A short but intriguing title as well as perfectly suited for the black covered book which has caused chaos and will cause chaos. However Leandrei doesn't know any of this

The old man quickly returns with two books named 'Nobility of Vermalan Empire' and '4000 year History of Vermalan Empire'. He then says "15 copper coins for the two books". After that Leandrei handed the book he found and the old man calculated the price and said "1 silver coin and 15 copper coins".

The price almost gave Leandrei a heart attack. With that much money a commoner family can buy a bit more than 3 weeks of food. Although Leandrei had a few hundred gold coins it still made his heart bleed. As a commoner very bit of money holds a lot of value to Leandrei. So he asks "Why such a big jump in price?"

The old man says back "The book you just gave contains information on magic which is why it's expensive. Anything magic related will cost a lot of money".

Then the old man held out his palm, an action which said 'give me my money'. Leandrei sorrowfully gave the old man the money and left.

Leandrei left the shop disappointingly due to the loss of 1 silver coin and 15 copper coins. He chose to not explore the Market District anymore and instead decided to go back to the inn he had decided to stay in beforehand with the book.
