The Ryder's Pain

Nagi wept, the pain permeating through the air. I could sense his emotions through the magic in the air.

"What the hell is happening? What did you do Reiner?"

I looked at the man but he seemed as confused as me. Then I looked at Nagi, the rage in his eyes was being transfered through the magic.

"Oh, that's not good." Terry appeared next to me.

"I've only heard about it, read about it in books but it would make sense for Ryders to be able to do it."

"What the hell are you talking about Terry?"

Talking became harder for the humans and humanoids here. The wind was moving faster and faster, hitting us at unnatural speeds.

"I'LL KILLL YOU!" Nagi bellowed in rage. The shadows around Mooneye started flickering unnaturally.

"He's controlling the magic purely through his emotions, it's unnatural and can normally only be done by dragons."

While I wasn't paying attention, Nagi moved towards Reiner so fast that he couldn't even react, slicing his head off.

The slice was clean, his body fell to the ground and blood spurted from his neck, his heart beating it's last beats.

His head was thrown to the ground, Nagi moved back to Aella cold and broken body.

"This doesn't make sense, how could he even use a spell strong enough to kill a ryder who's already passed the level cap? Especially since he himself wasn't even a mage, his stats should have been focused towards physical attacks."

I looked through his belongings, that I saw that something was clenched in his hands, an amulet of some kind.

"This, that explains it." Terry mumbled while examining it.

"What is that thing?" It radiated magic, powerfull magic at that, but I had no expertise on these things.

"This, is an amulet crafted by Kasimata, it had two spells in it, a one time use group teleport spell and a powerfull killing curse that seems to have four charges left."

Yes, Kasimata had planned this, although not as you might think. This amulet had been crafted by her just after ascending to godhood, hidden in her temple.

After her massive rearranging small details all over the world were being influenced to create her desired fate. Some of these details had led to Reiner getting this amulet.

Looking at Nagi, I saw him do something strange, he started pulling up her sleeve, Markus was helping him.

A tattoo appeared after a little while, they took out a knife and cut it out.

"What did you do that for?"

"This, this is the symbol of a completed unique magic affinity. You can use this to gain the level one skill, although only once, then the tattoo is transfered to you and can be transfered like this again upon death."

They put it away, it was kind of disgusting. Then, they buried Aella, I had gone to get Liz while they dug the pit, I killed all of the soldiers, propelling me to level ten, but I chose not to evolve, not yet anyways.

After burying her, we moved towards the sound, the magic around us kept vibrating, the sadness filled the air.

He couldn't hide it, even if he'd tried. When we arrived at the source of the sound a barrier was all that could be seen.

Like mine, it was owned by someone who had put certain restrictions on it, although this barrier only prohibited those who meant harm to people inside the barrier from entering.

We entered, and the field just stretched on for a while, although the music had stopped. We moved in silence.

When we finally saw the city, I knew it should've been breathtaking for Diana but she didn't even care, I wasn't that attached to Aella so I was blown away.

It reminded me of an Arabic city, stretching out in a caldera. A central palace towered over the city, a city made of black bricks.

The palace had golden bricks mixed in between it's black but the city itself seemed to be entirely made out of this one black brick.

At least untill you saw the streets, these were made from stones that gave off heat, this was then absorbed by the black bricks, warming every building to make sure no one was cold.

I could see that these stones were connected to a complex spell, meaning that if it got too hot, they could stop giving off heat.

"Aella probably would've immediately started singing along to the first tune she heard."

Nagi chuckled at the thought, then his face was filled with pain again, knowing that she never would be able to sing along with these songs.

The streets were filled with music but to Nagi, it must have felt like a mockery of his pain. The world should've stopped turning when she died, but instead, it still is.

Looking around, I did admit that it was kind of weird to not see Aella next to Nagi, I could accept that she was gone but I couldn't get it out of my head that something was missing.

Acceptance

Accept the loss of life in this world, and accept that you now live in this world and not your own.

System integration has reached 100 %}

That was surprisingly easy. Still, I got the reason why the system thought these were important, otherwise people would keep getting the idea in their head that they could get back home.

Ironically, the reason I could accept that part is because I didn't really yearn to get back to my own world, I liked the freedom here.

We entered an inn, it's name painted on the building in golden letters.

'The Musician's Rest'

I didn't really understand this city's obsession with music but I didn't mind, I loved music. I knew a lot of music, both classical and more modern, even something in between.

I love the music of the first 2 decades of the 21st century most of all.

Cough, I totally didn't say that she liked the music of the last two decades the most because that's the music I know best, nope, cough.
