The fall

Far from the forest, the kingdom of Dreghy was situated between a lake and plains. This kingdom was blessed by Kasimata, The goddess of fate.

The royalty had the ability to see possible future outcomes and made their choices depending on what would lead to the best possible future.

Smart right? Well, Kasimata was content to let them do that, sometimes they failed because of certain circumstances but overal, it worked.

The royal family only had to follow one rule, never make a choice that creates an outcome they can't see, and the family kept to the rule.

Then, the inevitable happened, any outcome they could see ended in them being brutally murdered. Desperate to stop this outcome, they broke their sacred rule.

They put the crown princess, just a baby, in hiding with their most powerfull group.

At first, Kasimata didn't notice that her acolytes had broken their promise to her. Then the revolution happened, the entire family was killed, everyone, save the princess.

"Where is she? Tell me or I will make sure that everyone dies the most painful way possible."

A man, clad in dark blue armor, spoke. His sword, a bastard sword, was held to the neck of the king.

"Why, Shing, we trusted you?"

Shing's eyes could be seen throught his armour's vizer, glowing with strange color.

"Because, you have betrayed the goddess."

The king understood that he was being forced, especially since the reason was an excuse. They didn't even know that the girl wasn't there before they stormed the castle.

"You know I will never speak. But I beg of you, bring us a swift death, do that last act as our friend."

He nodded, cutting of their heads, making it a painless death.

Meanwhile, a group was being pursued by two knights, one clad in green and one clad in golden armor.

"Reiner, Bertolt, you know you'll never be able to beat us! Stop chasing us before you get hurt!"

The man yelling this spoke with what I would describe as a German accent, riding next to him a brown haired man was holding a bundle of blankets.

The golden armored one, Reiner Soryn, started chanting.

The other one, Bertolt Rahul, took out a bow. Knocking an arrow and shooting it towards the man holding the bundle.

The third and last of the riders being chased, a woman by the name Aella, blocked the arrow with little effort.

"Nagi, I can hold them back and meet up with you in an hour." The man with the German accent spoke to the man holding the bundle.

Nagiliant, also known as Nagi, nodded.

"Aella, help Markus, you both know where to meet up."

The two nodded to their leader. They turned around and took out their main weapon.

Aella held a Rapier, she focused on extreme speed, poking as many holes as possible into her target.

Markus on the other hand, took out a battle axe. He obviously used the immense weight to overpower his opponents.

The two chasing them went pale, they were sure that they could keep up the chase, making exhausting them before attacking.

Them turning around meant that they had lost. There was a reason that these three were being chased, they were a threat.

Reiner and Bertolt were taken out quickly.

"Should we kill them?"

Markus looked towards Aella. She shook her head.

"We won't stoop as low as them, they might be nobility but we are far nobler."

Mounting their Krisha, they rode towards the meeting place.

Krisha are strange creatures, the way they are born decides what type they will be.

If they are born in the wild, they are wild, uncontrollable. They cannot be tamed when they are like this but they are physically weaker, having a strong magic ability to fight and become stronger.

On the other hand, those born in captivity are tamable, physically stronger to be able to carry their riders.

Their heads are long, having something like horns covered in flesh at the top of their head. Their bodies were horse like, covered in scales instead of fur. They had claws on their feet, having two claws at the front and one at the back.

They met up at a cave.

"Where should we go, we can't go to Oshiro, we would have to cross Aurelion's forest and he won't let us enter."

Markus looked at a map, encircling the places they could go and crossing off the places they couldn't with charcoal.

"Wait, I think I know where we could go."

Nagi pointed to a place that was in the plausible area but that Markus hadn't encircled.

Aella looked at him, shocked at the idea. Markus hadn't encircled it for a reason.

"You want to go to Shadow Den? Do you really think it's a good idea to let the princess grow up in a thief stronghold." Aella asked.

Nagi looked at the package, a little girl was sleeping within, wrapped in the blankets.

"I think it's our best choice. Shadow owes us so we would have protection so she'd be relatively safe and Shing's group is banned so we wouldn't have to fear them."

"Yeah, but we'd be stuck within the valley, especially since Aurelion's forest is the other exit, if we ever needed to leave we'd be cornered." Markus rebuked.

"It's a risk we'll have to take." With that, they got up and moved.

Little did they know that the girl they were protecting had been cursed by Kasimata, destined to die a gruesome death at the hand of her only remaining family member, her uncle, Shing, Shing Dreghy.

I only heard this story much later, when I met them, this took place fifteen years before I arrived in this world.

It would take another two years before I would meet them, and it would change my life forever.
