CHAPTER 53.

　　I saw something twitch in his eyes, something he wanted to cover up but couldn’t.

　　”Answer me!” I screamed again and pounded at his chest but James just stood there, giving me no reaction, as stable as a mountain wall.

　　”Avery,” Alex's voice sounded behind me but it was like he was further away. His voice was canceled out but I still heard the softness.

　　”No!” I screamed and shot my hand out to silence him.

　　”Avery?” I heard other voices now but I couldn't place them, they were there, someone else was there but I didn't take my eyes off James to see who it was.

　　”You were supposed to love me,” I said through gritted teeth and tears.
