MATTER OF LIFE AND DEATH

Okay!!! Guys and first of all I want to like apologize cuz I know I haven't been keeping up with my deal with you guys. so unless I broke my promise and I'm really sorry, like very sorry but something popped up, I was very sick, so I'm just like getting back on my feet now. So, today I'm promising two chapters, though short chapters. So, I'm dropping one now and then I'm going to go eat and freshen up and just relax a bit and I'm dropping the other one later during the day, so thank you for being patient with my book, like I was so happy when I came on when I turned on the app and I came online and also I saw that I've gotten my 2000 plus views, so very I'm very very happy. So, I'm not going to take anymore of your time. Let's dive into the books😊.

King Ayden laughed.

"Oh so you do know me right?!? Well, I sent the proposal to you, to your company actually and then you didn't give me any reply!!" Ayden asked.

"You don't deserve a reply! I don't want to sell my company!" Corolla replied with a hard face.

"Mom, is he my new daddy?!?" Kylie piped up from where she sat eating.

"No baby, he's not your new daddy! Remember we're okay by ourselves, right?!?" Corolla said.

"But mom..."

"But nothing!!! Eat up so we could go home" Corolla interrupted.

"Hey baby girl, what's your name?!?" Ayden asked Kylie.

"Kylie!" She replied enthusiastically.

"Kylie, you want more fries?!?" Ayden asked.

"Yes I love fries!" Kylie said.

"Okay here's a hundred, go get some" Ayden tried to get her away from the table so he and her mother would be able to talk.

"No thank you. But mommy said that I shouldn't accept things from strangers" Kylie replied politely.

Corolla looked very proud of her daughter. She ruffled her hair.

"Mom!" Kylie looked at her mother angrily while trying to fix her hair.

Ayden was frustrated. Emeline's life kinda depended on this. He didn't know what relationship they had together but he knew it was important. And the little kid, who didn't want to go away from her mother, continued with her lunch.

"Hey, how about we do this tomorrow?!?" Ayden asked.

"No I don't want to talk to you or anyone from 'my mother's family'!!!" Corolla said while her fingers made an air quote.

"But it's a matter of life and death!" Ayden said with a pleading tone.

"No thank you!"Corolla said and stood up. She grabbed Kylie's hand and pulled her up. Kylie gave her mother a confused look but allowed herself to be pulled up.

"Bye Mr Stranger!" Kylie said while waving.

Corolla dropped five hundred dollar bills on the table. She carried her self elegantly as she walked to the door and walked out, leaving everyone looking at her. Ayden was shocked. That was the first time anyone dared to walk out on him, everyone was always afraid of him. He also stood up and walked out.

Corolla and Kylie met Daniel at her driveway but Corolla ignored him and drove into her garage. They got of the car and Kylie waited for Corolla to get her purse. She walked out of the garage while holding Kylie's hand. Her housekeeper, Mandy came to collect her bag and take Kylie inside the house, Corolla gave it to her gratefully.

"What do you want?!?" Corolla asked coldly.

"Common C, what do you mean by what do I want?!?" Daniel asked like he didn't understand what was going on.

"Don't think I don't understand what you tried to do back there!! And don't think because you were my friend, you'll get away with anything!" Corolla warned.

"What did I do?!?" Daniel tried to continue with his act.

"Don't say I didn't warn you!!! Now get off my property! Don't let me get security to escort you out!" Corolla replied coldly.

Daniel understood that what he did was too much. He turned and left. It wasn't like he liked her at all, it was only for her properties and money. Currently she was one of the leading business persons in the country. There was always another chance. He didn't believe that she didn't like him one tiny bit. With that thought in mind, he walked away. But he didn't know that she had caught on to his plans. She walked into the house. No one get to take advantage of her, only her daughter.

Corolla got to the office the next day. She walked straight into her private elevator, while nodding to the greeting of her employees.
