Chapter 3: Freedom is for the Rich

I no longer experience dreams, all I see is the whites of her eyes staring back at me. I should of done something to help but yet I'm not a superhero. I can't just deny my true nature I had bullied people to the point of suicide, my sins can't

easily be forgiven. Plus it's not my business, it's not my business to go out of the way for others especially when no one has done the same for me.

This world is all about survival and what I've learned far is Freedom is only for the rich.

"Ken'ichirō are you ready for your first day of school tomorrow?" asked Rumi.

Of course replied Ken'ichirō. Summer break was finally over and a new school was waiting for him.

"Can you please stay out of trouble this year, I want all of us to have a fresh start." said Rumi

"A fresh start would be new clothes, good food and no poverty and yet here we are living in shambles with handy down clothes and stale food scrounge up from the monks. Aren't we supposed to give them food how are the monks richer than us?" Said Ken'ichiro

Stop it. we are doing fine the emperor will help us. replied Rumi

Aren't you tired of struggling mom? The dogs that roam the streets have a better life than we do said Ken'ichiro

"That's enough Shouted Rumi I'm doing everything I can, everything, I can't even remember the last time I was at peace." I need you to work with me, your father is dead and I have the world on my shoulders, I just need for you to graduate and be a good boy to at least elevate some of this stress" Replied Rumi .

But Mom you've never answered my question, aren't you tired of struggling? asked Ken'ichiro.

"Everyday my son , people who are at the bottom are destined to stay there but only the rich and power get all the freedom the world has to offer.", said Rumi

Only the rich has all the freedom? The real question of what freedom was, plagued Ken'ichiro mind. The true definition of freedom can be interpreted in just one word, POWER. The power to act, speak, move and think without any hindrance or restraint.. Freedom really is for the rich thought Ken'ichiro. No one ever questions the powerful. I refuse to be content or being grateful especially when I know I can do so much more for myself.

There is nothing worse in my eyes than feeling stuck and becoming comfortable in that sunken place, you can pray everyday, rely on the goverment for help and give up on your dreams if you want to Mom but that's not me. The question that he asked his mother replayed in his mind "aren't you tired of struggling?!"

"Son Money can't buy happiness remember that Shouted Rumi.

Ken'ichiro responded back with tears of frustration

and God can't pull you out of your situation just through prayer alone mother.

I Guess an opinion will always be disrespectful to someone who views are different, replied Ken'ichiro

You are just like your father, He wanted to change the world and change others views for the better but what both of youfail to realize is that we all come from nothing and we were placed in terrible conditions, we can work a hundred lifetimes and still be poor. Faith is the only way to be Rich. replied Rumi

your right mother on one thing and that's I am likey Father but instead of helping others change. I will be the example that everyone will want to follow not someone I have to convince to change. yelled Ken'ichiro

Ken'ichiro got up from the dining room table and walked outside into the crisp cool air. I must be the one, They'll never believe in you especially when you don't believe in yourself. I guess his mother did win that argument.

Faith is the only way to be Rich

He must have faith within himself in order to access freedom.
