In class

Ariellas pov

It sucked not understanding the laws that the high king created. It felt like he wanted a reason to punish someone. Nomatter how many times I read this book it did nothing for me and to make matters worse the teacher stopped allowing us to share in class.

So I was forced to read to myself whenever I had time. Hoping and praying that something gave before I failed the class. I don't get how the high king decided that this book cut it.

"Did you hear, the high kings here." A Goddess screeched to her friend. I would've been interested in what she was saying but for the last few days the rumor had been going strong.

Everyone was freaking out and I didn't understand why. Even though he was the high king he still killed his wife to gain absolute power. That was something going around the school alot. Nobody said his wife's name but everyone talked about how she was the most powerful God until he stole everything.

Every time I brought him up, Blake turned into a brick and Alax just joked around about the high king Coming and punishing me for reading the book outloud. They were both frustrating.

"Yes he's in the class right now." A goddess excitedly spooned. All of the talk about him was stressful since his book was causing me to have nightmares now.

I looked at the few Goddesses huddled around eachother and decided it would be best to slowly walk to class. I didn't want to deal with Blake or Alax. I definitely didn't need to keep hearing about the law class the high king was supposedly taking over.

The walk was kind of far. The one good thing was that my law class was accessible to me. I could enjoy the outdoors and nice weather while slowly walking to class. I would either get there on time or be late. Both were fine options to me.

The breeze that hit my face was amazing. It helped cool me off. Even with this uniform I was still hot.

"Ariella." My name was called from behind me when I was almost to my class. I turned around to a God jogging to catch up to me. The sun blinded me alittle so I wasn't able to see who it was at first but as they slowly got closer I smiled. It was the yellow haired God.

"Hi." I Whispered as I spun around to start walking again. He fell into step with me instantly And all I could do was smile as we walked because I definitely didn't think I would get a pleasant surprise while I walked.

"So how has the first few weeks at the academy been?" The yellow haired Gods voice vibrated down my spine. Something about him was different.

"Fine. I think this is the first time you've really talked to me besides the first day in Aries class." That thought alone had me eyeing him. He went alittle ridgid before he was giving me a heart stopping smile.

"You've always had company. This is the first time I've caught you alone." He said as he pulled something out of his pocket. I watched as he put a straw of some sort to his lips.

I was quick to look away because I definitely didn't want him to see the blush that covered my cheeks.

"Did you want to try?" He asked. I looked out the corner of my eyes at him. His soft smile was disarming and all but I was definitely not trying anything new. Especially with all the horror stories Alax told me.

"No I'm fine." He seemed to ponder over my decline for a second. His small chuckle had me looking at him with suspicion.

"Actually I wanted to know if you wanted to skip with me and just hang." He said as he inhaled whatever was in that straw.

If we didn't have class I would have loved to hang out with him but I didn't plan on missing class.

"I can't." I tried my best to sound sorry because I did want to hang with him. Even though Alax told me to stay clear of him he seemed like a nice God.

"I guess." His sad tone had me cringing at myself. Even if I wanted to skip I knew Blake would find me and drag me to class. He did it when I got lost and I doubt it would be any different.

"Maybe after classes are over." I tried to sound cheerful but he still seemed lost in thought. I couldn't help feeling disappointed.

"Well we're here." The God said as he opened up the door for me with a tight smile. I gave one of my own and slowly walked in.

A quick glance around told me that we were late. Everyone looked at us in horror as we walked in. I paused as I looked at all the eyes just staring at us. Everyone had fear in their eyes except for Blake who looked furious. The God that walked me to class maneuvered around me and went to sit down. I could only tighten my book to my chest.

A clearing of a throat had me stiffening. "It's nice of you to decide to join us today." A deep voice said from the side of me.

I slowly looked over and froze. At the front of the class was a tall God who was leaning against the desk looking at me with a raised eyebrow.

His grey eyes were stormy and his dark hair looked like he had put his hand through it a million times. How I would love to put my hand through his soft hair. The suit he was wearing fit him like it was tailored by the best God's in all realms.

A clearing of a throat had me looking back up at his face. Mortification was all I felt as my cheeks light up like a fire in a forest.

"I'm. I'm sor sorry." I stuttered. The small smile he gave me had my heart melting and It was like I was rooted to the floor. I couldn't move and it was like a haze took over my brain. Perfect haze that was made up of nothing but him.
