Destiny, the cruel bitch

"Where are you? I am standing outside," she asked, looking around.

"I am almost there. Stay still where you are," Serenity says while closing her car door.

She walks towards the main door. She had never stepped into this bar before but still, she knew every detail about it, thanks to Heaven.

Heaven quickly finds Serenity. She was about to wave at her when her eyes fell on Arrow. He was looking angry enough to eat someone alive and at this moment, his eyes were on her.

He's looking at her like a predator and like a prey, her body slightly starts to tremble.

She, by no means, was a girl who was scared of others but before him, something happens to her.

She never stays herself.

"Heav-" his voice gets cut off in the middle by Serenity's firm one.

"Back off, Arrow."

"What if I don't want to?" He says while his eyes are still on Heaven, who's now looking down.

"Then I know how to make you back off. Stop being a jerk and leave before I lose my temper and when I do so, I won't be as nice," she says taking Heaven's hand who was now looking at Serenity.

She knew that Serenity's fearless, she had always been but she didn't know that she was this brave.

Arrow's temper was well-known in their circle. Everyone knew that they shouldn't mess with him but Serenity didn't give a fuck.

According to her, Arrow made a mistake by hurting her friend. If not because of her friend then she would have murdered him in daylight and then happily go to jail or hell.

Going to jail is on her bucket list and death isn't something she was afraid of. She was afraid of failing to protect the people she loved and cared about.

And fortunately or unfortunately, Heaven was on the top.

"What are you going to do?" Arrow asks while raising an eyebrow as if challenging her.

"How about making a call to your mother and telling her about your deeds? I am sure that she won't be as proud as she's now," she said sassily.

Judging by Arrow's reaction, she has successfully managed to get under his skin but she doesn't care.

Arrow's grip on Heaven's hand was lost. Heaven looks at her hand with a surprised look. She didn't even notice him holding her hand.

"You are lucky that you are my brother's friend's girlfriend or it won't end this prettily," he says, his voice dangerously low.

"And you are lucky because of the same reason otherwise nobody would be able to find your dead body, ever," with this she starts moving, still holding Heaven's hand.

They get inside of her car and without any word, Serenity starts driving. She only stops near a coffee shop and gets two coffees with two burgers and fries.

She again starts driving until she reaches the spot where they came together for the first time. The view cleared their head.

Only after sitting on the mattress she had in her car did she give Heaven a burger and coffee before placing the fries in the middle.

For the next 5 minutes, neither of them talked, only enjoying the city lights.

"Everything seems so small up here, no?" Serenity says.

"It indeed does," Heaven agrees before taking a full breath, her full body getting filled with fresh air.

"Our problems are just as small as those lights until we give them more focus and get closer. We, humans, are so complicated. We ruin our whole life running after perfection, running after happiness, after peace. But we never notice that a certain something or someone can never bring us the happiness we will get after we actually start to love ourselves. After we actually move on from things that are holding us back from being happy. We need to let go of the expectations to be fully free."

After getting no response from Heaven, she looks at her. She was absentmindedly staring at nothingness.

"You know that I am wrong in this, right? You know that I am the homewrecker here, right? You can't defend me forever, you can't free me from my own sins. I am the sinner here, Serenity. I am the wrongdoer. I don't deserve happiness."

"Are you really? We both know the actual thing. Don't try to hide it. You loved him first and perhaps, you are the only one who loved him. You know that you were wrong in the past but now, you are going in the right direction. You are not the homewrecker. There's no one to blame in this. You are aware of this fact. Stop letting your insecurities push you away from your happiness."

Serenity couldn't bear to see Heaven in so much pain. She hated Arrow for causing her so much pain but she hated herself even more.

Only if that day she hadn't given her that dare then none of it would happen. Only if she wasn't jealous of Heaven.

Only if she made a move to be her friend rather than trying to get under her skin at each chance possible.

Deep inside, she holds herself as the criminal of Heaven.

"I don't know, Serenity. I know nothing. All I know is I don't feel good. Do you know what happened?" And then she starts telling her everything she kept inside of her heart.

The stars were looking at the two best friends trying to erase each other's insecurities.

No, they weren't the type to support each other on their wrongs too. They were the type to help each other right their mistakes.

To the world, they might seem wrong but the whole story was only known by them and God, and Serenity was praying with her whole heart for Heaven to get her smile back.

She didn't want her to get abused for nothing any longer. She offered Heaven to help her but Heaven being Heaven, she refused saying that she had accepted her defeat.

She doesn't want to fight back anymore. She has left everything in the hands of destiny.

Oh, destiny. Was she any normal cruel bitch?
