By the time Ivan came home after the session, it was already five in the evening. Not wanting to take a nap even though he was very exhausted, he slumped up on the couch thinking whether he should work out or watch something instead.

Helplessly shaking his head, he muttered, "Life is so hard."

"Trust me my little brother, you are living the best life right now." Tapping her nails on the side of the couch, Rachael remarked, "Way better than mine."

Looking at his sister who had suddenly appeared out of nowhere, he sighed, "You know I am not even surprised or shocked anymore."

She chuckled and sat beside him. "Well, you are a brave man now."

"Which window?" he casually inquired.

"Oh no honey, you left the door open," she answered.

Rachael Carter was Ivan's elder sister and the only person who could handle Darius when he goes overboard. After their mother's death, Rachael was the one who took care of him. In fact, she was also the only one who strongly supported him when he wanted to move out.

Unlike other vampires, Rachael had a very unique personality and possessed not one but two supernatural powers. Her extraordinary strength and the power to freeze time for at least ten seconds, gave her a very unique and special place in the clan.

Raising his brows, he curiously asked, "Did you use the door?"

"Of course, why do I have to use the windows to enter my brother's house? I am here to meet you, not steal stuff. Unlike other people who use sly methods." Looking at Darius, she smiled, "Right big brother?"

Looking at Darius, Ivan sighed. "This is why I love you Rachael, why can't everyone be like you?"

"What's with that frown on your face?" Rachael asked Darius. When the latter did not say anything, she scoffed. "I am telling you Ivan, this guy needs to get laid ASAP."

"I feel the same," Ivan agreed.

Ignoring their comments, Darius snapped at Ivan. "Why did you give money to Rylan and Dylan?"

"I never gave them money." When he received a death stare, Ivan shrugged his shoulders. "I gave them a card and that is not money."

Scrunching his brows, he snapped, "How many times do I have to tell you not to entertain them in any way? They are not supposed to come here and mingle in the human world, you know that."

"Kids just wanna have some fun, what's wrong with that?"

Clenching his jaws, Darius snarled at him. "Do you have any idea about the things happening around the city and how risky it is? Why do you take things so lightly? We can't protect everyone, we are already having a hard time protecting you and if—"

Cutting him off, Rachael squirted her brows at him. "Darius, learn where to stop."

"What is he talking about? Why do you guys have to protect me?" Ivan curiously inquired. Was there something going around that he had no idea about?

Without saying anything, Darius left.

"What was he talking about?"

"It's nothing, the man is probably very stressed. You know him Ivan, he has been like this for as long as I can remember—always grumpy," Rachael remarked. "And now about giving those kids money, you really shouldn't do it."

"But they are kids, it's okay for them to have fun," Ivan defended himself and his cousins.

She nodded her head and agreed. "Of course it's okay for them to have fun but only under our supervision. Rylon and Dylon are too young, they are reckless about their powers and have no idea how to use them properly. In other words, they aren't ready for this human world yet."
