"Do you think everything is a joke? Why do you always take things so lightly? When will you grow up?" Darius snapped. It had been eight years since he had been trying to convince his youngest brother to join the clan again but the latter kept turning him down every single time.
Shrugging his shoulders, Ivan made his way towards his chair. "Well, I am not old like you, don't expect a hundred percent maturity from me." When Darius scrunched his brows, he scoffed, "You are at least hundred something years old, how can you even try to compare my maturity with yours? I am not even one third your age."
"But you have stopped ageing and—"
Cutting him off, Ivan frowned, "How do you know I have stopped ageing?"
"Cynthia—"
Rolling his eyes, he scoffed, "Ask Cynthia to stop talking shit. How the hell can you even say that I stopped ageing? Do you people have any proof? I was twenty-seven last year and now I am twenty-eight. Though my age has increased by one, there is no visible difference."
"You know exactly what difference I am talking about, you are just trying to avoid reality," Darius retorted.
Crossing his arms in the front, Ivan smiled at him. "Come and charge me again when I am forty but I still look twenty-seven. Is that more clear? Argument over—" Pointing towards the door, he smiled, "Please push yourself out of my office."
Before Darius could say anything, he sighed, "I am sorry, I forgot you never use the door." Pointing towards the open window, he smiled, "Please push yourself out."
Placing both his hands on the desk, Darius glared at him and declared. "This isn't over yet, I will be back very soon."
Darius Carter was Ivan's elder brother and the temporary leader of the vampire clan. Unlike Ivan who was a human with human blood flowing in his veins, Darius was a cold blooded vampire since birth. His pale white cold skin and visible fangs made him look completely different from his youngest brother. Being the oldest, he was also the most obedient child who always listened to his parents.
Following his father's orders who had completely isolated himself in a cave after their mother's death, Darius had been trying very hard to bring Ivan back to the clan. This was one of the reasons why he kept coming back even though Ivan kept dissing and chasing him away.
Standing near the window, Darius looked at his brother. "You don't know this but mom used to always tell us one thing, fate is something you can never avoid no matter how hard you try." Pausing for a couple of seconds, he firmly stated. "We are your fate Ivan, the clan is your fate. No matter how hard you try, one day you have to return whether you like it or not."
