Lingering Moments
"Hooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo," she stretched lazily, like a cat preparing for a jump.
"That felt a lot better," she smiled.
"Say, Crael, what do you think happens when we defy fate?" She looked at her companion straight in the eye, seemingly serious, but with mischief hidden beneath her eyes.
"It is impossible," Crael answered with all seriousness, "even if it is you, my Lord."
The lord chuckled, "my, my, not even a little bit of flattery for your dear lord."
She looked away, and focused on the setting sun, her smile showing no trace of disappearing.
The orange hues made her skin seem like glowing, Crael could not look away from the beautiful lord he had served for years. The grief is evident in his eyes as he basked into the final beautiful moments of his beloved master.
"Fate can not be defied because it is you who makes them. It is also me who had made and chosen... this fate."
"My lord..." Crael kneeled, "if it is ourselves who get to choose our fate, how come I, your servant, cannot choose mine?" He pleaded with tears in his eyes. His life was hers. What could a servant do without his master?
"There's more to this life than being a servant of mine, silly Crael." She laughed.
"Have no more regrets, my child." She whispered in the air along with her vanishing fragments that went with the sun that had finally set.
