Uncontrollable Tears

Oliver's feet immediately went cold that his legs could not carry his weight. He had to lean on a pillar near him. His eyes became very dark and he could see no one but could hear the applause by the guests. "What on earth just happened?" Oliver said pretending to smile. Before he could come down from the stage, guests were already congratulating him on his forthcoming engagement.

James knowing fully that Oliver was not happy with this development,he disappeared from the scene only to be seen amidst the guest discussing the future of their partnership. Oliver also knew he had to move with the flow and contain his anger as any further reaction by him can tarnish the company's reputation.

He accepted the congratulatory messages and met with few investors to talk about their interest in aquiring shares from the company. But deep inside Oliver was falling apart and couldn't stand it anymore. He left the banquet for Eric's apartment.

Eric was out of the City but he has a particular place he usually hides the key for Oliver should he come around. Oliver picked the key and opened the door. He went to the fridge and took out a beer. He was feeling dead because he can no longer feel his body.

He cried throughout and slept off. After waking up at half past six p.m, he picked up his phone and clicked the contact icon and searched for 'forever mine', it was actually Lilly's number he saved with that phrase. Oliver stared at his screen for over five minutes and was still decisive whether or not he should call Lilly. He is afraid of how Lilly would react to his call. He made up his mind to call her irrespective of what her reactions would be.

They are justified because he has been a coward and couldn't raise to the challenge of fighting for his one true love and the fruit of their love. He dialled her number but it was not reachable at that moment. Oliver tried calling again for the second time and this time the call went through and the phone kept ringing. Just like the phone was ringing, Oliver's heart was also beating so fast simultaneously.

"Lilly isn't answering the phone!" He whispered to himself. He tried again for the last time it rang and the phone was answered. " Hello! Hello!!" Lilly answered with an angelic voice. He immediately recognized her beautiful voice. How can he forget the voice of his first and only love? But Oliver was still and couldn't say anything to her as his heart was beating so fast. He became nervous and his forehead broke into cold sweat.

"Hello! Who is this? And why aren't you saying anything? There should be a break in network I guess." Before she could hang up her son ran to her and said "Mummy I want to have some steak". Oliver was shocked to hear a child call her mummy. He hung up the call and couldn't believe his ears. " Did she keep the pregnancy? Is that my baby on the phone?" His mind went blank and his ears buzzed. Oliver asked himself as he broke down with uncontrollable tears.
