Third Wheel

That afternoon, Amy decided to go to her office and handle urgent things that needed her approval.

Despite Jen's constant refusal for her to return to work, Amy made rounds, scheduled operations, and reviewed treatment plans. She had missed working.

That Friday, Jen and Amy were supposed to leave at 7am for their 7-hour flight to India. But their flight got pushed for another 2 hours due to bad weather.

"How are you feeling?" Jen asked Amy as she sipped her coffee at the nearby cafe closest to their terminal.

"I'm great; the few days helped me stock up tons of energy. I'd be able to work for the next two years without sick leave."

Jen rolled her eyes at Amy's response. She knows better it was someone- not the absence of work that helped her recuperate.

"How are things between you and Jim?"
