"Ready?"
Jim caressed Amy's hair, grabbed her travel suitcase, and put it in the trunk of his Rolls Royce ghost. Amy would have drooled over Jim's car if she weren't nervous.
"You'll be fine," Jim whispered as he opened the passenger door to let Amy in. And with trembling knees, she did.
"What if they don't like me? Or what if I do something inappropriate?" Amy confessed. "I don't know much about your culture; you should have told me sooner so I could have researched something. I don't want my first meeting with your parents to be embarrassing."
Jim said nothing but gingerly caressed Amy's perfectly wavy hair. Her hair was not in her usual bun or ponytail today; it was shinier and healthier than usual. Her big beach waves fell into her face as if it was the most natural thing.
