Philosophy on Joy and Freedom

It was once again the day of collection. I was supposed to go down underground, meet up with Omi, and get the money.

We didn't need to go up to junkies and sell them directly, our drugs got sold directly via Dino. His gang would distribute the drugs for us while we only had to give him the meth.

I met Omi in the party room again and he was sitting there waiting for me. The second he saw me, he stood up and headed out. I followed in pursuit and we walked towards Dino's building. We got through security and was in his room. We handed him 400 grams this time and he gave us the money.

"Can you take more than 400 grams?" I asked.

Dino smiled at me and started laughing. Some of his teeth had become gold, probably from fighting and losing his teeth. He then stopped laughing and stared me right in the eye.

"How much?"

"2 kilograms."

The corners of his mouth rose and he started laughing before slamming his fists onto the table. His temperament was unpredictable.

"STOP FUCKING AROUND!"

He slammed his knuckles into the walls repeatedly with force, making dents in the wall.

The guards looked at us and took a step back.

"We are going to sell and sell and become the richest people in the underground," Dino unexpectedly said.

He then told us not to mess up the process because he would have all the money ready for the next time we visit and if we don't have everything…

"Owing Dino money is a very bad thing you know."

He then told us to leave and meet him at one of the garages he owned.

Me and Omi walked out of the building with all the money we had, I gave Omi the 10% cut and walked away to call Devina. But before I called Devina, I got curious. Why would Omi become a drug dealer and what is with the negative cursed speech?

I knew that I shouldn't pry into his own private life but there was something deep inside me telling me to figure it out. If what Devina said was true then Omi must have connections with Allegrano, the Aeon of Joy, but why?

I called up Devina and asked her if she had anything that would help mask my presence. She gave me a small device that would remove my presence and make me invisible to those who weren't searching for me.

Devina teleported back and I stayed for a bit longer in the underground. I tracked down Omi and found him entering a small dilapidated house. I hurried up towards the house and hid behind the walls while slowly peeking my head through the window.

The mark of Freedom activated on my cheek and it oozed black liquid down my face. I covered it with my hand and continued watching.

I saw the reason for the drug business. His mother was sitting on the couch with tubes connected to her. Omi was talking with a caregiver who had been taking care of his mother. His mother's limbs were deformed and had multiple lesions on them. She most likely got them from an accident.

Then walking into the room was two younger boys, walking on crutches. One was missing his leg and the other was in a wheelchair because he had no legs. What a sight of suffering and pain.

Omi handed the caregiver some money as payment for taking care of his family. I couldn't see his father anywhere, here in the underground, I wouldn't be shocked if his father was deceased.

But how does Omi know both Devina and Allegrano if he is supposedly just a teenager with familial issues? Hmm… I thought long and hard about it, one theory could be that Allegrano represented him in a court case as a lawyer. But does Allegrano work both in Nautilus and the Underground? But why would Allegrano give Omi his blessing of the Positive?

What does the Aeon of Joy want? What is his goal? Being the Aeon of Joy, you could think that he would be spreading happiness and pleasure to everyone. But it doesn't seem like he is doing that currently. But you gotta take into consideration what is Joy for him. The philosophy of freedom is not just one thing. Different individuals have different perspectives on freedom.

But if the Aeon of Joy decided to make Allegrano its host, then it means that either Allegrano's ideology of happiness is the best representation of joy or the way he carries out happiness is the best.

Either way, I have no way of figuring out why Allegrano decided to bless Omi with his Aeon. But how would you even bless someone with a fragment of your Aeon? I gotta ask Devina later.

I slowly head back to an alleyway where I can call Devina to pick me up. I wondered why Omi didn't ask Devina to help him cure his mother and brothers. He saw Oslovi effortlessly heal him back to normal even when he got pummeled.

I call up Devina.

"Yeah, you can come pick me up now, I'm done."
