"Sir Eric, the board has requested your presence," a voice echoed across the room cloaked in darkness. Eric's eyes slowly opened, revealing themselves to the emptiness of the room and the shadows that lurked.

His chair rocked slowly, but abruptly came to a halt once those words were spoken.

Eric applied pressure on his armrest, using it to push his body up. He stood tall, with robes encompassing his body. With an emotionless expression and a pale face, he slowly walked towards the exit of the room.

Darkness followed him at every step, dancing at his fingers and embracing his body, refusing to release him from its bounds. It was like his entire existence was encroached by the darkness and its will.

Eric exited the room of darkness, and stepped into more darkness.
