"Oh."

Raegan looked at Jayden and Ms. Roughes even more baffled, as if what they were crying about didn't matter too much, which made Zayon's spirit pang with sorrow and dejection. How come all that Raegan could say to this terrible news was "Oh"? Did she not care that her father died?

Raegan looked blankly at Jayden's bloodshot, red and veiny eyes, his throbbing and lumpy throat, his sniffling red nose dripping with slimy, yellow mucus, his puffy, flushed face. She stared expressionless at Ms. Roughes' swollen, glossy eyes, her quivering, slightly inflated, red lips, her pink, wet skin. She felt a depressing essence coming from the devastated pair and brushing it off, she wondered why they would be crying about something so anticlimactic.

Jayden looked at Raegan's calm and collected expression, but then noticed a bit of annoyance in her state, as if he and Ms. Roughes were being irritating with their disheartening hysterics, as if they were ruining her positive attitude with the news of her own father dying, which made Jayden's eyebrows furrow in fury.

With his nostrils flaring like he was a fire-breathing dragon, he pulled away from Ms. Roughes' soothing hug and gave Raegan a tight slap across her oblivious face.

"How dare you act as if nothing terrible happened?" He raged, his body shaking in lividness. "Your father just died!"

Ms. Roughes quickly got up from the couch and turned to face Jayden with an infuriated expression.

"What savagery!" She yelled. "Why would you slap her?"

Raegan's tears started to pour out of her eyes like Khon Phapheng Falls. Her face flushed with an angry and embarrassed shade of red.

"Yeah, why would you slap me?" She cried.

Jayden rolled his red eyes while exhaling deeply out of his nose. "Your father just died and you're acting as if you noticed that a blade of grass in our yard is growing faster than the others."

Raegan snorted while her face turned back to it's regular color of floral white [Hex: #FFFBF1, RGB: (255, 251, 241), CMYK: 0, 0.015, 0.054, 0]. "What? You expect me to active my fight or flight just because someone who never even cared for me died?"

The sting in Zayon's spirit was like a sting from a wasp - it gets worse and worse if not treated. Zayon had no one here. There was no one to make him feel better. There was no one to help him. There was no one to make him smile.

𝘐 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘯𝘰 𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦! 𝘕𝘰𝘣𝘰𝘥𝘺 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘨𝘨𝘭𝘦 𝘐'𝘮 𝘨𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩 𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘯𝘰𝘸! Zayon thought sorrowfully. Suddenly, he felt a warm, soft hand on his shoulder.

"You have me." A voice told Zayon. "I know the struggle you're going through."

Zayon looked up to see Cael's expressionless face. On second thought, his face wasn't completely expressionless. He had his signature smile and spock eyebrows with friendly, downturned eyes. Even his name sounded holy. However, it was almost as if he was faking this angelic persona and was just a demon with white, fluffy wings. It was almost as if he didn't like Zayon at all and wanted to see him like this, sorrowful and heartbroken. It was almost as if this colorful, happy face of Cael was just a mask or perhaps makeup, hiding the real blank face with a muted shade of grey.

Maybe Zayon was just imagining it, but Cael's smile started to turn sinister, and suddenly, Zayon didn't even know why he was smiling so much. The reason for this smile was incomprehensible. Why was he smiling when Zayon was in agonizing pain? Ugh, he had enough of these confusing people! Reika, Darla, and now Cael… Why was everyone's expression so baffling to figure out?

"Don't be disheartened," Cael suggested. "Why don't we find out exactly how you died? I figure that you're quite confused about the subject."

Zayon definitely agreed with Cael. "I am."

"That was expected. Now, look inside this telescope to see into the past." Cael walked towards a brown and yellow telescope and gestured for Zayon to look into it. "Say your full name, so the telescope will know it's you and transport you to the exact date, time, and location of your death."

Zayon floated towards the telescope and looked into it. The only thing that he could see was darkness, indicating that the telescope was waiting for Zayon to say his name.

"Zayon Eli Edmenson."

The telescope quickly transported Zayon to his death - the exact date, time, and location.

Zayon stared into the telescope, missing his old body. His curly, fluffy, black hair. His pale, soft, spotless skin. His moonlid eyes with arched eyebrows. His naturally contoured, button nose. His perfect, pink lips. Everything about this wasted body was missed by Zayon, which made him wish that he hadn't been so careless with his own life.

Zayon watched as he sped on the road like he usually did, which he guessed wasn't the reason for his accident since he had always done it and never had any issues with it. Suddenly, Zayon noticed as he got distracted by someone getting jump scared by his loud engine, causing him to look away from the road and cross a red light. Zayon then saw himself get jolted up and down because he ran over something - a human being.

It turns out that two people - a male and female couple - were crossing the road, thinking that they both would be safe, but because of Zayon's foolishness, the female got ran over. Zayon quickly realized that his nonsensical ways of speeding caused him to literally run a poor woman over, which then resulted in the female's boyfriend to pull out a gun and shoot bullets into all the wheels of Zayon's beautiful car, causing Zayon to stop unexpectedly.

𝘖𝘩, 𝘴𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵'𝘴 𝘸𝘩𝘺 𝘐 𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘱𝘱𝘦𝘥… Zayon thought sadly.

Zayon's car suddenly caught on fire and since he was allergic to smoke, he passed out before the fire could even touch him. He passed out long enough for the fire to spread and burn him, which resulted in the death of Zayon Edmenson.

Zayon sighed and looked away from the telescope after seeing how he died. He hovered around, feeling bored without his phone, wife, and children. He decided to call out to Cael to find out what else he could do.

"Cael? Cael, where are-"

Cael teleported before him, smiling the smile that he always smiles.

"Hello sir," He greeted. "How may I be of service?"

"What else can I do in this place?" Zayon asked. "It's getting kind of boring."

Cael shifted his weight on one leg and started to think. "Well, you can talk to other spirits."

That didn't seem to interest Zayon too much. "What else is there to do?"

"You can eat some food."

That seemed to catch Zayon's interest. "Well, I suppose I feel a bit hungry," He stated. "Wait, but how will I eat without a mouth? Or digestive system?"

Cael smiled a bit. "You spirits have your own mouth, and you do not have a digestive system."

Zayon looked worried for his near future. "So the food will just stay inside of us?"

Cael shook his head. "It just teleports out." He replied to a very mystified Zayon, as if this was a normal, usual thing that every being should know and understand.

Zayon looked very bewildered. "I don't understand."

"That's fine," Cael stated. "I'll explain it to you."

𝘕𝘰, 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘣𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘭𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦! Zayon thought.

"Oh no, it's fine," Zayon told Cael awkwardly. "I'll try to understand it one day."

Cael's smile disappeared at the same time his fluttery wings stopped fluttering and drooped down low.
