Chaotic Bar Fight, Exit the Space Sheriff

"AAAGGGHHH!"

As the initial shock of the sword thrusting through the door subsided, one of the women seated at a table began to scream. More cries erupted as the door, along with Greg's lifeless form, was hurled through the air. The other patrons, now in a state of panic, rose and rushed toward the walls on either side. Cassie let out a scream as well and immediately took cover behind the bar counter.

"Greg!" The two roommates shouted simultaneously, calling out the name of the now dead bouncer.

Norvin and Edward, who were pretty tight with Greg, were the only ones who didn't flee. Their anger outweighed their fear. However, they hadn't anticipated the arrival of half a dozen figures clad in armor, charging through the gaping hole where the door had been.

Within moments, Cassie and Huey instinctively sought protection behind the only two men who hadn't started to run and scream, whose absence of fear made them appear as a safe haven.

The dark-armored warriors pulled out various weapons and surveyed the bar's interior, scanning every patron and piece of memorabilia on the walls, as though they were on the lookout for something specific.

The one that had come through the door first whipped his sword down, removing the rest of Greg's blood that stained it still and then turned to the other warriors. "Kill them all and search them quickly, don't bother leaving anything to chance."

Norvin cocked his head, puzzled by the unfamiliar language. He had learned many languages to avoid reading subtitles on his favorite shows, but this was the first time he encountered this particular one. Then he noticed a tail, armored just like the rest of their bodies, poking out from the rear of one of these peculiar knights. "What the fu..."

"YOU BASTARDS!"

Norvin's cursing had been cut off by the mighty roar that came from his best friend. He had never heard the big man shout like that before! Huey and Norvin were both in front of where Cassie and Edward were standing; Norvin winced a bit, but Huey screamed and grabbed both of his ears in pain! Cassie, already positioned behind Edward, was less affected, but she still covered her ears and clenched her teeth.

The peculiar knights halted abruptly and fixed their gaze on Edward. The man who had spoken earlier, apparently the leader, called out to his companions once more.

"Watch out for that one, he might be a super! Maybe a pugilist or a meta? Deal with him first!"

After saying that, he led the charge directly towards Edward!

On their way to deal with the new threat, the armored men got near Norvin and Huey, Huey was still doubled over, a little blood was seeping from both of his ears.

'Oh shit..." Norvin's mind raced, recalling fight scenes from various forms of media. He seized the back of Huey's bomber jacket and hurled him to the side. The lead warrior, along with three others, charged past, targeting the only individual they perceived as a slight threat. The last two warriors resolved to confront the remaining people inside, taking the lead knight's order to eliminate them with extreme seriousness.

The patron nearest to the rapidly advancing men was the one with multicolored hair. They both were confused by his composure, as he did not rush to press himself against the walls in fear like the other pitiable inhabitants of this planet.

As the first large warrior stabbed his spear towards the man for an easy kill, something unexpected happened. Norvin ducked away from the sharp business end of the weapon at the last second, dropping his left shoulder and head backwards.

As he did this, his hand shot out much faster than should have been possible. He seized the shaft of the spear as it went by with his right hand and pulled it downwards while moving his left leg to snag it under the crook of his now bent knee.

Norvin then rotated his core muscles hard, catapulting his surprised aggressor backwards with enough force to destroy several of the now abandoned tables behind them!

He landed awkwardly, his neck at an odd angle, accompanied by a loud snap. Norvin found himself with the incapacitated soldier's spear pinned beneath his knee. He moved it to his right hand and threw it at the back of the warrior heading towards Huey, who was curled up on the floor in the fetal position, eyes shut and still holding his bleeding ears.

The blade pierced the man's neck where the armor was slightly thinner, a vulnerability Norvin had noted. The sight of the other man's neck snapping, even with protective gear, had given Norvin his target.

Norvin had a brief moment now, and he used it to vomit, his throat searing as the soda he had consumed earlier surged back up. The gravity of his recent actions had finally dawned on him. Caught between the rush of adrenaline and his reflections on his kills, he felt a profound sense of disgust and sickness.

The other warriors also slowed down right before they reached Edward and Cassie, the unexpected sight of their companion hurtling past them had halted their pace. Edward, still enraged, grabbed Cassie and pulled her close with one arm, while reaching towards the rear of a now nearby armored warrior that had turned to look at the spear piercing through the neck of their other squad member.

It was the warrior with the tail. Edward grasped the three-foot-long appendage and yanked it fiercely. The knight with the tail suddenly became a makeshift flail! Edward bellowed, though not as loudly as before to avoid harming Cassie, and began to pummel the remaining armored soldiers using their comrade!

Twirling on his heels, he toppled them all in rapid succession before they could ready their weapons once more! The men had not anticipated another super where there should have been none. It had cost them dearly.

Norvin and Edward, both panting, exchanged glances. Norvin had been fortunate in how one knight had fallen, resulting in the death of another. This left the four who Edward had already thrashed, they were twitching on the ground and groaning in pain, some were starting to push themselves back up however.

'What on earth are these guys made of?' Norvin wondered about the armored individuals. He had often imagined himself and Edward as potential superheroes due to their abnormal strength and speed. It was evident to him that Greg's murderers were at least as quick and powerful as he and his roommate were.

Norvin rushed over to Huey, grabbing him by the collar again, and pulled him towards Edward, kicking two of the rising soldiers back down as he went by.

"The heck is going on man? What the hell are these knight fuckers!?" Edward looked at his best friend and asked as he stomped on the tail of the armored warrior he had used as a flail.

He aimed for a gap in the armor where black fur could be seen, the creature shrieked in pain. Edward reaching over for a bar stool after to smash the lead knight that had spoken back down to the ground, shattering the seat.

"Eddy, I'm scared!" Cassie tugged on the sleeve of Edward's jacket and looked up at him, the fear very evident on her beautiful face. Huey was also starting to get up to his feet now, very shakily.

"Cas, don't worry, we've got this, okay? Just get the hell out of here!"

"No way! I'm sticking with you..."

"Me too, this is fucked up my dudes!" Huey had finally found his voice.

"At least you sound like you're back to normal." Norvin shook his head at Huey.

"Ugg!"

Edward kicked the head of the lead knight that had killed Greg, back into the floor as he tried to get back to his feet. He spit on his now dirty black armor. "Seriously Cas, we have work to do here. Get out of the building while we deal with whatever this shit is."

"A...Alright...hurry up and come out too, we can just call the cops..."

Edward gave her a quick peck on the cheek and then slammed the head of the knight back into the floor with his large sneaker one more time. "We will be right behind you, okay?"

Cassie gave Edward a quick hug and started heading towards the door. The rest of the people in the bar against the walls had calmed down slightly. As Cassie headed towards the door she looked back again, almost feeling pity for what she figured the boys were going to do to the armored weirdos in revenge for Greg.

Most of the other people inside figured they should leave quickly as well. Some had soiled themselves in fear and the bar smelled kind of gross at this point. They hurried from their hiding spots and caught up with Cassie just as she was about to reach the door.

"You too, Huey," Norvin said, nudging Huey gently towards the door. At the same time, he thrust the toe of his shoe forcefully through the visor slit of another warrior who was attempting to peer up at them.

Norvin's eyes flashed suddenly, while his hair stood up everywhere on his body in warning. He pulled Huey back, turned towards the door and yelled out as quickly as he could.

"Cassie! Get back here, right now! Get away from the door!"
