My First Day

So after I made it to my house I moved everything out of the car. The house is beautiful, it used to belong to my grandma. When she passed away she left it to me. Mom and I came here a month ago to clean the place up and move in some furniture. It is a beautiful two story light purple and white house. There are three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living room, a dining room, and a kitchen. There is a basement and a garage as well. All in all the place is beautiful. Personally I think the place is to big for me but mom said it's good to have a place to hide if I need to. And after everything the Luna has done recently I have to agree with mom.

So I spent the next three days getting settled in and learning the town. We agreed that I rotate the nights I face time mom and dad so we don't have a pattern. I would text them but keep it very short. But I always let them know I was okay.

After I talked to mom and dad I spent about an hour trying to pick out the perfect outfit for my first day. Once I had it set out I took a shower and went to bed. Finally my first day has arrived. Once I made it through security I was told to go to personnel. Once I got up there I was givin a badge and a uniform and sent to the sixth floor. As I was getting back on the elevator and older man was getting off. As we passed each other I smelled an amazing smell. I don't know exactly what it is but I smell citric and something else I love the smell. Then the doors close and the scent goes away. Then I push the button for six and start my day.

Once I get to the sixth floor I learn that me application for food services was accepted. Miss Belle is my boss. When I walk up to the group looking for her an older women steps forward and says," Sweety you need to go to the restroom and put on the uniform. If Mister Masters sees you without your uniform on you will be fired."

So I go straight in and change to my uniform. Once that's done I go back out to see Miss Belle, she shows me where the lockers are so I can stow my things then she gives me a rundown on what my job here is. I am the new head cook of the catering division. Then she tells me we have a lunch to set up for this afternoon. After that she takes me to the room where we will be serving the food. Needless to say I am not happy I don't have a menu or anything and Miss Belle has no idea what we are to do because she only cooks the staff lunch. Once we get in the room she shows me where the equipment is then leaves. So I am now standing in the middle of the room completely at a loss for words. After a minute I start smelling that scent from personal then I turn around and see the older gentleman walk in the room.

He walks up to me and holds out his hand and says," Hello I am Daniel Drake I am the CEO of the company. What is your name and why are you here?"

As he is shaking my hand I feel tingling shoot up my hand and travel all over my body. Between that and the scent I am struck dumb for a minute.

When he let's go of my hand I come back to my senses and say," Hello, I am Ella James. I am the new lead catering cook. But I'm a bit confused right now Miss Belle says there is to be a catered Luncheon at noon but this is my first day and I have no information on it. She brought me to this room and showed me where the equipment is and walked out. As the CEO I am assuming you will be there can you tell me what you had planned so I can get to work please."

"I am sorry Miss James for the confusion but the lunch isn't until next Monday. I was just getting ready to get the lists together for you today. Actually if you would like to follow me to my office we can go over it together there."

"Oh I'm so glad it wasn't today. Yes I am fine with going to your office and working on it now. Do you have a notebook I can barrow? See I put in two applications here and they never told me what area I was hired for. Miss Belle just gave me that information and left. You really need to get personnel to work on their communication skills."

He starts laughing and says,"Yes I have paper you can use. And I'm sorry about the confusion, I will talk to personnel myself."

After that he stands up and offers me his hand, I take it and as he lifts me to my feet I feel that tingling feeling again. I'm not sure what to make of it but when he let's go of my hand I start to miss the feeling. He then leads me to his office, once there he introduces me to his secretary. Her name is Elsa, and she smiles at me as he asks her to bring in two Dr. Peppers and to hold his call since we will be going over the Luncheon.

Five minutes later we are sitting at his desk, Elsa brings in our drinks and he pulls out the folder for the Luncheon. He also hands me a yellow notepad and a pen. He then tells me there will be fifteen people there. He wants coffee, tea, and water there. He says he wants some appetizers to start with and for lunch he wants a six ounce steak, baked potatoes, and a side salad. He also wants all the fixings for the potatoes. Then he tells me he wants a dessert as well. He gives me a free hand on the dessert as long as there is no nuts in it because three people have nut allergies.

Once I get all the information I need he gives me the list of items and tells me I can go. Then he shakes my hand again and leans in and kisses my cheek as he tells me welcome to the company. After that I go back to the kitchen.
