Infinity Base’s Guild Leader

The players suddenly found several cuts forming on them. They could hardly process what just occurred before their vision turned dark.

The players collapsed like a failed domino creation. The ones remained were the few that surrounded him at first, and Zealous.

Akiol looked towards the Vice-Leader, "Do you understand now? The term 'there is always bigger fish' will always be correct in this game."

Yet contrary to Akiol's expectation, Zealous did not show a single sign of emotion. As if this whole process was within his plan.

Zealous clapped slowly, "Amazing as ever, you truly have grown since then."

Akiol had a bad feeling, he immediately charged towards Zealous with {Expeditious Steps}.

He swung his sword towards Zealous' neck. Yet his sword passed through it like nothing was there.

Zealous' figure dissipated. A voice spoke from above Akiol, "A little hasty are we? We aren't finished just yet."

Suddenly all the blood spilled from the players returned to their bodies. They began to stand up one by one.

Zealous laughed, "I hope you didn't think I wouldn't improve during this time. My whole class is built to lead! Behold! My Immortal Army!"

"I've seen those who claim to be Immortal die, I am sure you army will follow."

"You're welcome to try it."

A flurry of arrows descended upon Akiol. To dodge these he only moved slightly, Zealous should already be aware of his race. So he only had to keep his core safe.

Before the rest of the arrows stopped falling, a series of different spells bombarded Akiol as well.

Pointed Stars upward Akiol commanded, "Repulse."

The force from the skill destroyed the spells and arrows, shocking the players.

"Who is this guy?"

"Wasn't he in one of the monthly showcases?"

"Really?"

Zealous was unperturbed, "Attack him, you won't die anyways!"

The players charged, most of them were amateurs. Wildly swinging without care. Akiol moved fluidly through the attacks, killing a player with every step.

His Aura changed back to orange, so he had the strength to kill the players faster. He didn't wish to used {Origami Style} too much. He had just used one of its final moves recently, using more techniques make take a toll on his mind again.

A player swung downwards. Akiol used his sword to block and redirect the blow. Once this was executed he fluidly moved and stabbed a player behind him.

Stars was indeed a top weapon, with its attack values Akiol was able to one-shot players with a critical hit.

Akiol freed his sword and swung in front of him, a player's head was sent flying. With a turn he deflected another incoming strike, and pushed away a player with a kick.

Akiol's sword pierced the heart of a player, using his strength he tossed them towards an approaching group.

A player stabbed a spear towards him, only to find that it was now buried in the ground. Akiol had stomped on it to prevent it moving any further. Swinging his sword down he split their skull into two.

A bloodbath followed, it was no ambush or war. Rather it was a one sided slaughter. They couldn't do anything!

Yet after a while the wounds on the players' bodies healed and they stood up again. Akiol knew his efforts were being wasted. So he prepared to take on Zealous.

His Aura turned yellow and he vanished into a series of afterimages. Appearing in front of Zealous his sword carved through their body. However their figure simply dissipated like before.

A voice spoke from above him, "Your opponent is not me, but rather my army."

Akiol used [Leap] and jumped towards Zealous, fighting his army would be fruitless after all.

Zealous shot a red beam towards the ascending Akiol, "What did I say?"

Akiol absorbed the beam with Stars and continued to ascend, "You don't get to call the shots."

Zealous raised a finger, a red pulse of energy sent Akiol flying back over to the army, "But I do."

Akiol twisted and looked over at the army, "Stars."

'On it!' -Stars

The black hole appeared at the tip of the sword. It shot into the air and expanded rapidly. Yet instead of it swallowing everything, a meteor the Akiol came flying out.

Meteors cause devastating damage upon impact. While some of this is due to its size, the other part is the speed it has during the impact.

The majority of meteors that hit earth slow slightly upon reaching the atmosphere, due to the air resistance. However that same air resistance was a lot less now that Akiol had summoned a meteor so close to the ground.

BOOM-!!

The player were either crushed, sent flying, or buried during the impact. A large crater formed, the meteor resting in the middle of it.

Akiol landed and shot forward, he needed to interrupt Zealous before the army was revived again.

Zealous raised a hand a red barrier forming around him, "It doesn't matter-!"

Akiol's Aura turned crimson, swinging Stars he easily shattered the barrier. After a quick readjustment with his grip he slashed horizontally, a large gash forming on Zealous' chest.

Zealous exploded into a red flash, pushing Akiol back. He gripped the wound, the blood flowing back into it. Making the wound return to normal, "Can't you see? It's useless, no matter what you do it will not stop your inevitable death!"

"I wonder if you can stop my escape."

"Ha! You escape and we will target your friends, you will be constantly pestered until I have my revenge! Now rise-!"

Akiol shot forward and grabbed Zealous' face. Using the momentum he slammed Zealous onto the ground, "You know what I noticed? Whenever you use that Immortal ability you suddenly can't dodge my attacks."

Akiol stabbed Zealous' chest, "Sometime Immortality isn't a blessing. Instead it's a curse."

Zealous erupted with power, "Get off!"

Zealous exploded with a red pulse. However unlike last time Akiol was not sent flying away. This immediately made Zealous panic, he had used his Berserk Skill and was unable to make them move?!

Akiol stood there, a deep blue aura surrounding him. A strange crown like object hovering over his head, with a similarly shaped one hovering behind him.

Akiol used his own Berserk Skill in retaliation, followed with Aura to increase the gap in strength.

Akiol gripped Zealous and lifted him, "I'll give you one chance, leave me and my party alone. We won't bother you, and you won't bother us. An easy escape, no?"

Zealous laughed whilst he was being lifted, "Are you crazy? Why would I ever quit? You think a mere death is enough to stop me?! I will not rest until I have had my revenge!"

"Your revenge is over a small conflict, you wish to take things this far?! Just over some measly fight?!"

"You almost stopped me! I had to pay quite the price to make up for what you did, I will only collect what is due!"

"You brought this upon yourself, so desperate to become a higher rated Guild."

"You'd never understand! The humiliation of being looked down upon even though we are one of the strongest guilds! This was our opportunity to rise! One that I made sure we grasped! Yet you tried to stop it!"

"The path towards your strength was wrong. Moreover I was dragged into that little conflict."

"Don't spout morals to me, I don't care about morals! All I care is making sure the Guild that took me in gets the reputation it deserves!"

"A reputation of a tyrant? A reputation of an unwavering Guild that will suppress those it has even the slightest dislike of? Have you seen what you caused? Your Guild members are overconfident, hundreds of posts about the ridiculous demands of your Guild spread in the forums like wildfire. Players fear you, desperately calling out for justice. Is this the reputation you want?!"

"I don't care about what they think! We are number one! Those under us have no right to speak! Those who stand above all have every right to demand what they want, strength is everything here!"

"That is correct, strength is everything here. You're not respected if you're not strong. That's why I also gained power. So if I alone overpower you, doesn't that mean I have the right to demand what I want?"

"We far outnumber you, a single man's power cannot overturn the results of a war."

"The descent of a God can, a single entity that can turn the tides. Whilst I do not claim to be a God, I certainly can also change the tides."

"The farther into the game we get, the harder it will be for you. We will grow stronger, the difference in ability is nothing compared to stats!"

"That is where you're wrong."

Akiol aimed to stab Zealous' heart, but a voice called out, "Please unhand him!"

Akiol looked over to see a man jump off a large bird. Upon landing he immediately walked towards Akiol.

Zealous was shocked, "Guild Leader?"

Akiol was quite intrigued, the Guild Leader of Infinity Base was someone he had never seen before. A large axe was on their back, their armor gave off a sense of power. Moreover they most likely jumped off a flying mount, mounts capable of flight were incredibly small in number. Very few were able to obtain one.

The Guild Leader walked up to Akiol and kneeled, "Please! I ask that you forgive all of this. I'm willing to compensate you as long as you're willing to drop this issue!"

Akiol was surprised at the difference in attitude between them and Zealous. Still he asked, "Who are you to stop me now?"

"I'm the Guild Leader of Infinity Base: True."

"I'm aware of your identity, that was not my question."

True hesitated before responding, "I am no one to stop this. You are in the complete right to take things this far. My foolish second-in-command had taken things too far. Due to an issue I haven't been able to guide my Guild during these times. Now that I am finally back I wish to correct its path."

"How is it you plan to stop me?"

"I am not sure if I can, that is why I am willing to compensate. I am sure your demands are well within our capabilities!"

Akiol was impressed to say the least. He hadn't expected to say the least. All the answer True gave him were satisfactory. Akiol had deemed True someone of good character.

Akiol looked at Zealous before tossing him onto the ground. Whilst deactivating the Berserk Skill and Aura he said, "I am not someone who likes needless conflict. Since you are sincere enough I do not mind stopping here."

True sighed in relief, he though of Akiol to be the kind who was unwavering in their decisions. He quickly asked, "What is it you wish for then?"

Akiol had nothing he wanted, not that he could think of now. So he gave a slight smile and answered, "A favor, you owe me one."

True was baffled, this Akiol individual was completely different than his expectations! He had been prepared to fork out a significant sum. Yet all he owed was a favor?

Zealous grit his teeth, "I won't let you! I will collect what is due!"

A large red beam was shot towards Akiol at incredible speeds. True's eyes widened, what had Zealous done?!

Akiol watched the beam calmly, it wasn't because he had something to combat against it. Rather it was because he didn't. Using Aura with a catalyst would take a little time. Same with unsheathing Stars. The beam would have hit Akiol.

With the beam too fast and too large to dodge, Akiol found himself in quite the predicament!
