The Heretic Sword God

The Heretic Sword God, The One Who Betrayed All, The Thousand-Faced God, The Jester's Blade... These were all names given to one person by the masses; Khoru. But, that's too far into the future. Let's start at Khoru's beginning, his start on the path to both supreme and unparalleled strength, and godhood... Khoru, originally someone from a distant planet known as Kale Planet, perished and reincarnated on another planet. In his next life, Khoru realized that there was a drastic difference between the two worlds. This world had supernatural powers. The people of this world could awaken supernatural beings known as 'Martial Spirits' at the age of 12. Not only would these beings aid people in their cultivation, they could even provide people with magical items or abilities. Khoru just so happened to be born into a small noble family in Yellow Apple Town; The Ghostly Blade Family. They were a noble family full of sword fanatics. It was said that each member of the family would awaken a weapon type, almost always a sword-type, Martial Spirit. They were all extremely powerful as well. So now, not only did Khoru have to survive in a supernatural world where death was as common as eating, he also had to live up to the expectations of his overbearing family... And even worse, he was born as the illegitimate son of one of the supreme elders of the family! Fear not though, because Khoru won't fold under pressure so easily! = = = = = [Cover does not belong to me, I only edited it a bit.]

Hollow Descent!

"Liang Jun didn't disclose any information about his sister's Martial Spirit, so I guess we'll have to see today."

"Yeah, I bet it's something amazing!"

The crowd was filled with expectant chatters. Everyone was excited for the upcoming fight and could barely hold their breaths. Although Qiu Wei was rather well-known, Liang Hai wasn't too low-key either.

She hadn't made any waves, but her father and mother were pretty strong members of the family so it was expected that her and her brother would be just as strong.

"You're supreme elder Huanfeng's most prized child, huh?" Liang Hai asked. She held her hands out as if she was waiting for someone to place something in her hands.

Suddenly, a thick line of fire appeared on her hands, quickly turning into a great sword made of burning flames. The temperature around Liang Hai increased dramatically and it felt as if she had an orb of heat around her.

"I guess you could say that. I am the only capable one out of all my siblings after all." Qiu Wei stated. Her remarks were cold and surprised the crowd.

"Q-Qiu Wei?!"

"Did she really just say that? I'm not complaining..."

Everyone knew that Qiu Wei wasn't one of many words, and anytime she said something it would always hold some type of significance.

But this?

She was just blatantly disrespecting all of her other siblings. A few people subconsciously looked towards Khoru to see if he had any reactions to her words.

They were met with a rather unpleasant surprise. Khoru's expression was evil and a wide grin was plastered upon his face. He looked like he was about to commit a heinous crime!

"Jeez, what's gotten into you?" Liang Hai asked with an amused expression. She placed her greatsword on her back as she spoke.

"I haven't the faintest clue." Qiu Wei said in a quiet voice. She gripped her rapier, which sparkled and clouded the view around her with dark purple mist every now and then. It's appearance wasn't too clear to Khoru before, but now it was.

It was black and grey with faded Spirit Qi swirling around it that made it seem somewhat repulsive. Strange howls could be heard from the mist that it released, it made a few people shudder.

Her eyes flickered slightly as she dashed forward in a split second, reaching Liang Hai's position within that same instance.

Khoru's eyes widened upon seeing this and he was heavily intrigued.

How did she do that?

The wasn't just a mere dash...

It was something sort of like teleportation.

Khoru wanted to get to the bottom of it, so he eagerly observed the fight. He wanted to obtain the most knowledge about Qiu Wei's abilities before fighting her just to know what to expect.

"Already?" Liang Hai laughed hysterically as she swung her great sword with immense speed. Somehow, the greatsword flew from her back and perfectly repelled Qiu Wei's sudden attack. Her rapier pierced at the greatsword with terrifying penetrating power, yet the greatsword didn't show even the slightest dent.

Liang Hai's Martial Spirit was truly strong!

Liang Hai responded with an efficient counter attack, she swung her greatsword forward within the same time after blocking the rapier. The air was almost set aflame and the ghostly mist surrounding Qiu Wei was burned away.

She just barely dodged the attack by leaning all the way down to evade it.

"Haha! Idiot!" Liang Hai laughed as she raised her leg and firmly axe-kicked towards Qiu Wei's head. Qiu Wei quickly teleported away just before the kick landed on her head.

The spectators covered their mouths as they saw Liang Hai's kick break the stadium ground.

She was that strong?

What stage of the foundation building realm was she at?

Many people wanted to know but they had to watch the match for now.

"Don't even think about running!" Liang Hai said as she threw her greatsword at Qiu Wei, who quickly repelled it with her rapier. Although, her weapon wasn't fit for blocking such weapons so she was knocked back a bit.

"Tch." Qiu Wei teleported again, seeing that Liang Hai had lost her weapon. She thought of such a move as idiotic and a clear opening for loss.

When she approached Liang Hai, she felt something was off. A wicked smile appeared on Liang Hai's face as she stomped the ground.

"Sunder the sky and bathe it in flames! Flaming Pillars!" She said.

"Dammit! I forgot about that!" Qiu Wei's eyes contracted as she recalled something.

Not only could people practice sword arts, but they could also learn to personally invoke the elements of the world.

Even if someone awakened a weapon-type martial spirit, they might still be able to learn 'magic', as well as weapon arts in the process.

This gave them a major advantage in battles, and in cultivation period.

"Liang Hai can use magic too?"

"She doesn't need a medium like a sword art to use magic? Amazing!"

"I think Liang Hai has more talent than Qiu Wei..."

Liang Hai hid more than everybody could've guessed, and it surprised them all pretty well when they watched her use true magic. Most people would only use magic through a medium such as a weapon arts.

Eight blazing pillars of fire erupted from beneath the stadium and shot into the sky. Qiu Wei teleported through the pillars of fire, but since they were spread out and rather thick, she had to watch herself.

To top it all off, Liang Hai continued to attack her all while the pillars raged.

'So troublesome!' Qiu Wei thought to herself as she dodged multiple attacks and steered away from the pillars.

The spectators were tugging at their hair! They felt as if they were watching someone dangle between life and death continuously.

It was nerve-wracking!

"Qiu Wei is just a step away from defeat!"

Qiu Wei's expression suddenly changed mid-fight. She quickly teleported away and gained distance before raising her rapier into the sky.

"Swallow the world and drown it all in the wails of the dead! Hollow Descent!"
