"You don't have to do this. I'll find a way to get an antidote if you give me the chance!" Ailani grabbed at final straws to save her skin. The mention of an antidote got Darius to slow down, and that gave her time to think.
She desperately pleaded. "I'll do anything. I'm a goddess of health, after all. And I would do anything for my grandson. Drop the weapon, okay? Let's talk this out."
"Drop the weapon?" Darius held onto the hilt tightly. He had almost been fooled by the mention of the antidote and considering Ailani was the greatest goddess of health of all time, he had almost believed there was nothing she couldn't do.
"Drop the weapon for you to use it against me?" He raised it despite the goddess's wails and pleas for forgiveness. The last thing he expected was for someone to pull Ailani away at the last moment. He had not seen them so he knew it was a deity, which was proven moments later when Aires materialized before him.
