It was currently pouring heavily and thunderstorms raged occasionally. Zeralf was drenched fully but that wasn't his concern at the moment.
He twirled his whole body on his left foot and slashed outward with his kusarigama. Five silver lines each about a meter long, propelled forward until they eventually clashed with an ice barrier. That wasn't all, two earth spikes were about to hit him from behind but he teleported ten meters to the left.
After Genzo left, the only form of training partners he had were bots who had been programmed with certain Dharma abilities. He was at the moment fighting two bots with Earth and Ice abilities each having the attack power of a Quartz rank Deva but overall, their powers were not as powerful as a Quartz rank human due to many reasons.
Firstly, they did not have their own thoughts and could only perform simple tasks such as defending and attacking, they were programmed with few skills which were easily predictable after a few clashes and since they could not perform complex tasks, it was hard for them to team up on a foe.
Despite the several disadvantages that the bots have though, Zeralf was still finding the fight difficult with his current skills since each bot attacked with the might of a Quartz rank.
He teleported again and appeared before the one with Earth ability and slashed upward with the scythe head. He didn't wait to see the damage he caused instead he did a double flip on air to dodge the ice shards that were approaching and then swung forward the chain, the arrowhead hit an ice barrier which exploded but the momentum was greatly reduced so he pulled it back.
'' Their attacks are faster than my normal speed without my teleportation. '' Zeralf held his Zajra in an attacking stance while analyzing the skills he had shown so far and the bots' attacks.
Another set of ice shards and earth spikes approached his position but he didn't dodge at that time.
'' Temporal drag. '' He muttered in his head with a calm expression.
Time slowed down and the oncoming attacks moved at tortoise speed but he was not going to wait for them to hit him. He teleported to the blindspot of the bot with ice ability and made a triple slash in the air. The scythe head cut the bot twice and the arrowhead pierced it which finally destroyed it and the metal scraps scattered on the wet ground.
Temporal drag had stopped working at the moment not because of lack of supply of Ki but due to the limit of his current proficiency in that skill, but taking care of one bot without interference was a piece of cake.
He spammed the bot with spatial cut until its earth shield could no longer keep up and got destroyed.
'' These scraps are becoming boring. '' He spoke in a low voice with some annoyance mixed in it but the downpour simply submerged his voice.
'' Maybe it is time I hunt Vermin. '' He checked the time on his mobile device which was ten in the evening standard time.
He walked toward the door that led to the inside of the building, each step making a 'squash' sound as he stepped on the wet ground.
He entered the washroom which was also large like every other part of the building and turned on the hot shower. After he was done, he dried himself with a black towel and entered his bedroom to crash on the bed.
'' It is two years already. '' Zeralf reminisced. '' Who knows what they are out there doing? ''
In those two years Zeralf knew he had improved greatly and the more time he spent alone, the more he found being alone interesting even though he still appreciated Genzo's company.
The next day, Zeralf woke up early as he usually did and completed his body exercises. He was not going to spar with the bots today since he planned on hunting Vermins in the countryside.
He washed and warmed the stir-fried goose which he kept in the frozen crystal. When he was done, he dressed up in a black boot, black fitted pants, and a red hoodie with the hood hanging down together with his long white hair.
He stepped out of the tall grey gate and his eyes welcomed the boisterous Nerili city.
There were big flying transport buses that entered wormholes set at different strategic locations. Most mortals and low ranking Devas usually use this as means of transportation since it was cheap and Majhr was too big to cover with their strength.
There were also Portal stations that connected different points in space with portals and are generally more expensive than public transport but faster and individuals could use this instead of having to mix in with the crowd.
Zeralf was going to use the Portal station due to him finding the public transport quite bothersome and he had the money so he was willing to spend moreover he was traveling a couple of regions and public transport was not just ideal.
He walked down to the closest station which was a skyscraper with different runic designs all around its walls. There were security officers in EDF uniforms patrolling with unfriendly faces ready to jump on anyone who wanted to cause trouble.
Ezgard Deva Force, EDF was the sole military that governed the whole of Ezgard multiverse. On successful awakening of one's Dharma, it was compulsory to register with the force and enter one's identity as a Deva in order to keep a record of every Deva, and should someone go rogue, their identity would be easy to get. Most new Devas also take the EDF exam and on passing, they can officially join the EDF as one of its agents which is the job with the highest pay.
The securities were obviously low rank agents who were tasked with keeping mortals and low rank Devas in check and they were called the enforcers. They were clad in white fitted shirts, black trousers, black leather boots, and a loose knee length brown coat, this was the EDF standard uniform for the low rank agents.
Zeralf entered the building after several sensors and detectors scrutinized him. The inside of the ground floor was quite crowded as one would expect since people coming out of the portals from other locations would appear on the ground floor after leaving the connected portals which were on the higher floors.
Zeralf had no business on this floor so he pressed his finger on one part of the wall which warped and took him to the 65th floor.
'' See that kid eh, probably someone from a rich family. '' One of the enforcers gossiped with his subordinate.
'' What do you know, that hoodie he wore is from Rajh's collection and it costs five thousand Ezarr. '' The other enforcer replied with a smug expression as though it was him that owned the hoodie.
The one that started the gossip startled and widened his eyes in surprise. '' Holy shit. '' He gulped. '' His parents must be super rich, why isn't he using a personal Portal though? ''
'' You're asking me? '' His subordinate answered flatly. '' As if a lowlife like you will know how those rich guys think. '' He thought to himself.
It was not as if low rank agents are not paid well, their salaries too were in the tens of thousands but to use five thousand Ezarr to buy a hoodie?
Zeralf on the other hand was not aware that some people were already gossiping about him, and neither will he care should he find out, he appeared on the 65th floor where he inserted his card into a green circle on a wall, two thousand Ezarr was deducted since he was leaving the central region for the remote region in the south.
The wall opened and Zeralf entered. the inside was well lit by shining crystals and the floor was covered in runic engravings which carried the aura of space.
'' Initiating long distance teleportation in..''

Zeralf heard the bot speak as he felt space twisting.
