Chapter 3 –

As he was submerged in his thoughts, he suddenly heard the system's prompt.

"Host, it is advisable to have power and authority in the Muggle world. Though you might think only the 'House of Malfoy' has business and dealings in the Muggle world, many other ancient pure-blood families also have good connections and transactions in the Muggle world."

"Even the British Royal Family and other top families have a separate wizarding branch that oversees the entire British Empire and their respective magic world, controlling everything from behind the curtain. Otherwise, how do you think that even after countless years, only the top 0.1% of the world's population is ruling the whole world? It's just that they are very secretive in their work and have total control."

'Then what about the Statute of Secrecy and witch hunts?' Adrian tentatively asked.

"Those are real for people of lower class. But as you climb up in society, especially from a long line of ancient wizarding families with international level power, these laws will gradually have fewer shackles for you. It's not like I'm saying you will not be getting persecuted if you get caught, but it's for if you get caught.

And for witch hunts, even if you're an almost invincible existence, you will die if a thousand ants bite you and the mob has the greatest numbers. So although top people are inside the system, they must maintain balance to not anger the mob in case of any disaster." The system replied as if asking Adrian if his brain capacity was that of a five-year-old child.

"So I will suggest the hosting plan with having a mind for the future as you're thinking about your family's Muggle now so that you can gradually become a behemoth like those ancient ruling families." Then the system signed out.

...

April 6th, 1896

It's been almost two weeks since Adrian came to Portsmouth to spend time with his parents and siblings. During this period, he wasn't merely lazing around but engaged in productive activities.

Initially, he frequented multiple small and unregulated horseracing and betting places. Using his £13 savings and another £37 loan from his parents, which was their retirement savings, he managed to increase it to £3,000. Aware of the consequences if caught, he employed the Confundus charm extensively to win 85% of the bets, maintaining a 15% losing streak to avoid potential future issues if not handled properly.

With the acquired money, he purchased an old and dilapidated shipyard from a bankrupt owner almost at the cost of water. Allocating 20% shares in his name and distributing 55% and 25% shares to his father and mother, respectively, he made them major shareholders and owners.

Adrian envisioned the shipyard becoming a sought-after destination for luxury and comfortable yachts, where affluent individuals would spend money to find happiness. To execute this vision, he provided his father with detailed information and technical know-how for 4-5 types of advanced yacht designs, entrusting him with the management of the business.

Being a proficient Apprentice Runist with a strong understanding of wards, he strategically placed them around his parents' house, creating wards suitable for the Muggle world. Additionally, he used the Confundus charm along with a memory fabricator potion on all employees to ensure their loyalty and prevent any thoughts of betrayal or harm to his family's interests.

After completing these tasks, Adrian felt satisfied, knowing that he could now only wait for the situation to gradually improve for his parents and sister to lead a good life and help him on the muggle side. He identified one potential issue that could be problematic for his family—lack of education.

However, recognizing that slowly educating them would consume a significant amount of time, he opted to directly use charms to ignite a desire for education in his parents. He also provided them with an inferior memory booster potion with an effect lasting almost a year.

But there was a pleasant surprise for him as he unknowingly completed a milestone from the system. Just after he settled down the shipyard and its employees, he received a notification from the system.

[Congratulations, host. You have completed the Milestone – Owning Business in the Muggle World. This achievement brings you one step closer to your goal, a feat unattainable for many, even in their dreams. Reward – Basic Legilimency and Basic Occlumency]

The most crucial items missing from Adrian's magical arsenal were the two rewards he had just received. Despite his high soul power making it challenging for others to intrude into his mind, his low-level Sonority also hindered his ability to master Legilimency and Occlumency, even at the basic level.

This unexpected reward was a pleasant and much-needed development for him. Adrian now grasped the potential benefits of the system's rewards and eagerly anticipated his future.

'I have to be like a horse… An uncontrollable horse of ****…. Shit! What am I thinking?' Adrian scolded himself, though anyone observing him would notice a creepy, satanistic smile forming on his lips.

Now his panel looks like something like this –

...….

As the whole family was getting the gist of a happy and rich future, just like other parents, his mother started talking about his future, especially when he will get married. She was also telling him about the girls from the neighborhood and other places whom his mother knows.

If it was normal time, he would not be interested but as he also gets pressure from the system and afterward rewards previously completing milestones, he decided to settle this matter now. As he doesn't have any familiar witches and it will take some time if he tries to develop a relationship now, he decided to trust his mother and asked her to arrange a blind date for him so that at least he could have a better understanding before he decided.
