Leaving for school

Shaun finished packing as I stood there. After he put the last item in the box, he turned to me.

/"I guess this is it,/" Shaun said.

/"Yeah,/" I mumbled.

/"We talk about this, Pax. We’ll call and see each other when we can, but if we meet someone, the other can’t get mad,/" Shaun reasoned.

/"I know,/" I agreed. I know I told Shaun we would see what happens, but it was a lie. I didn’t want him to meet anyone else.

Shaun kissed and hugged me. He let go of me, grabbing a box and going downstairs. This feeling sucked, but I didn’t want him to give up his future.

Parker

We loaded up the car, telling everyone goodbye. I hugged my parents, and Ma wouldn’t let go of Payton and me. Pops had to pry her off us.

/"Piper, the boys will never leave if you don’t let them,/" Pops told Ma.

/"It’s my right to hold on to them as long as I can since I gave birth to the boys,/" Ma declared.
